4 Teens Arrested in Connection to North Carolina Girl’s Murder

Veronica Baker.

The poor girl was found dead in a North Carolina neighborhood last weekend.

And the authorities may have found the killers.

Officials report that four teens have been arrested in connection to the murder.

Fox reports on the breaking story:

Four teens, including a juvenile, have been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old girl who was found dead in a car outside a Raleigh Bojangle’s last weekend.

Police said Tuesday night that three teens, Keyshara Michelle Deans, 19, Nezyiha Zamir Collins, 19, and Tyreek Qumay Rogers, 18, were all arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Authorities were still looking for 17-year-old Devin Cordell Jones. A juvenile petition and secure custody order for the murder of Veronica Lee Baker were being sought for Jones. On Wednesday morning, the teen was taken into custody and charged with Baker’s murder.

Deans, Collins, and Rogers were all taken to the Wake County Detention Center. Collins and Rogers are being held on $500,000 secured bonds each. According to warrants, Collins and Rogers left North Carolina with Jones in an attempt to evade capture.

Deans is being held on a $1,015,000 secured bond for multiple charges, some of which date back to June and don’t appear to be related to Baker’s murder, according to arrest records. Deans’ arrest warrant says that she drove Jones from the scene of the murder in order for him to evade capture.

Just after 8:15 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported finding a girl lying inside a car in the parking lot of the Bojangles’ at 3920 Jones Sausage Road.

“She’s not breathing. I tried to shake her and everything else. It’s just not, no response. No nothing,” said the caller, adding that the car was running with the lights on, doors open, and a set of keys inside.

What's worse is the lack of coverage over this murder in the mainstream media.

Maybe because it's a white girl that potentially was murdered by four black teenagers?

The Gateway Pundit brought up the point in their reporting:

The brutal murder of 17-year-old Veronica Lee Baker in North Carolina has become another shocking crime ignored by the national media because the victim was white and the people involved in her murder are black.

While some may argue this is a local crime that should only be covered by local news, the media reports on every slight and insult by a white person against a person of color, see the cases of Amy Cooper or the Covington kids for a couple of examples. If a white woman simply calling the police on a black person who was threatening her is national news, surely murders of white women killed by black strangers should be as well.

Baker was shot in her vehicle at a Bojangles restaurant in Garner, south of Raleigh, on Saturday night. Her car was still running when her body was found. The 9-1-1 call by the restaurant employee who found her has been released to the public.

Keyshara Michelle Deans, 19; Nezyiha Zamir Collins, 19; and Tyreek Qumay Rogers, 18, were arrested and charged with felony accessory after the fact to murder, the News & Observer reported Tuesday night. The name of the person who police believe to have pulled the trigger has not been released, as he is 17-years-old. He has been arrested.

“She didn’t deserve to get shot and killed and left in a parking lot,” Jim Baker, Veronica’s father, told local station WRAL.

The Bakers believe that the murder may have been part of a robbery.

“She was my baby. She was my baby who had a future. She had such big, big plans for her future,” said her mother, Laura Baker. “My daughter would never hurt anybody. She didn’t have a fighting chance in this. She was a good girl; she has the biggest heart.”
