Trump To Send More Feds To Portland

The President is reportedly sending reinforcements to the Law Enforcement Officers who are being attacked on a nightly basis.

As violence in Portland, OR, continues to intensify against Federal buildings, President Donald Trump has decided to send more Federal reinforcements to the area.

From our friends at Fox News:

The Trump administration is sending more federal agents to Portland, Ore., in a bid to increase its presence against growing groups of protesters and nightly lawlessness.

The U.S. Marshals Service will send 100 deputy U.S. Marshals to Portland, according to an internal Marshals email reviewed by The Washington Post.

The first batch of men and women began arriving Thursday night.

The Department of Homeland Security is also considering sending in 50 U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel to the city, though a final decision has not yet been made, the paper reported, citing senior administrative officials.

The move to send in additional agents would mark a significant expansion of the federal forces currently deployed to Portland. As of mid-July, there were only 114 federal agents.

The largely liberal city has seen weeks of protests over police brutality and systemic racism with no end in sight. There have been nightly protests, some of which have escalated into riots, for two straight months following the death of George Floyd, a Minneapolis man who died in police custody.

President Trump repeatedly has said he sent federal agents to Portland to stop the unrest but state and local officials say he's only making a bad situation worse.

The Trump administration has pledged to defeat the "violent anarchists" who claim they are trying to burn down the federal courthouse building.

Confrontations between heavily-armed federal agents and activists have intensified in recent weeks.

Late Sunday, there was a reported shooting in Portland. There was also a bag found with loaded rifle magazines and Molotov cocktails, which led to an intense Monday morning confrontation between demonstrators and law enforcement."

And from Breitbart News:

Thus far, 18 people have been arrested and face federal charges in connection to riots, the Department of Justice announced Friday.

The DOJ’s announcement followed rioters attempting to barricade federal agents inside the courthouse as they moved to set the building on fire.

“Around midnight rioters attempted to set the courthouse on fire, as they have done numerous times before. They also threw smoke bombs into the flames causing the interior of the courthouse to fill with smoke,” a Department of Homeland Security official wrote in an email obtained by the Washington Examiner. “In response, a team of federal officers was forced to leave the building, taking one individual into custody. When they did, a rioter threw a bag filled with hard objects at officers.”

As the protests raged over the weekend in Portland, demonstrations for police reform in other cities around the U.S. were hit with violence. Protesters set fire to an Oakland, California, courthouse; vehicles were set ablaze in Richmond, Virginia; an armed protester was shot and killed in Austin, Texas; and two people were shot and wounded in Aurora, Colorado, after a car drove through a protest."

About half the country is pretending the Donald Trump is pushing his "secret police" or "Gestapo" into the streets of American cities.

But who could watch any of the video or images coming from Portland and not see the clear insurrection and violence being perpetrated on Federal property, and most importantly, innocent law enforcement being sent to protect it.

The Federal Agents are clearly outnumbered by hundreds or thousands.

Donald Trump is doing the right thing in Portland, and if the residents there don't vote for him in November, they have no one but themselves to blame for the destruction of their city.
