One of President Trump’s most recent great decisions was to remove the US from the World Health Organization (WHO).
Our country sends millions of dollars each year to the WHO and what do we get?
A corrupt organization that cozies up to China.
It’s a known fact that back in January, the WHO peddled the lie that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus.
They did this in order to protect China’s interests.
Well, good old Joe Biden has now promised that on day one of his presidency, he’d rejoin the corrupt WHO.
Here’s the report on Biden’s announcement from the BBC:
US Democratic challenger Joe Biden has said he will reverse President Donald Trump’s move to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO) “on day one” if he wins November’s election.
Mr Trump formally began the pull out on Tuesday after signalling the move in May. He said the WHO was under China’s control during the coronavirus crisis.
The process could take at least a year.
Mr Trump currently trails Mr Biden in the race for president by a margin of more than 10 percentage points.
Analysts have urged caution in interpreting the polls, but Mr Biden’s lead is far greater than that of Mr Trump’s 2016 opponent Hillary Clinton at the same point in the campaign.
Many voters are concerned by the administration’s handling the pandemic and its economic fallout.
There have been almost three million confirmed cases of the virus in the US and more than 130,000 deaths, far more than in any other country. Meanwhile, tens of millions have lost their jobs.
In a tweet on Tuesday evening, Mr Biden said the US was better off working within the international community on global health issues.
“Americans are safer when America is engaged in strengthening global health,” he said.
“On my first day as President, I will rejoin the @WHO and restore our leadership on the world stage.”
Democrats in Congress confirmed that the legislature had been notified of the president’s decision.
Robert Menendez, the leading Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, wrote on Twitter: “Congress received notification that POTUS officially withdrew the US from the WHO in the midst of a pandemic.
“It leaves Americans sick and America alone.”
China also deplored Mr Trump’s move, saying it would hit poorer countries hardest.
“This decision of the United States undermines international efforts and will have grave implications – especially for the developing countries that urgently need international support,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian.
“We urge the United States to fulfil its international responsibilities and obligations and to show the responsibility of a big country.”
Of course China would be disappointed the US is leaving.
We bankroll the organization and China gets to manipulate it.
Fox News details how RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel blasted Joe Biden for defending the WHO:
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel hammered presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden Wednesday for his criticism of President Trump pulling the United States out of the World Health Organization (WHO).
“Joe Biden is, once again, showing that he would fail on the world stage,” McDaniel told “Outnumbered Overtime,” noting that the U.S. had contributed $900 million to the WHO’s budget for 2018-19..
“They had one job,” McDaniel said of the United Nations agency. “’Let’s look out for a pandemic,’ and they failed.”
“They told us not to wear masks,” McDaniel added. “They didn’t alert the United States quickly enough or all the other countries [where] lives have been lost because of their ineptitude and every American should be appalled by the atrocity of the WHO. What do you do when somebody doesn’t do their job? You fire them.”
A spokesman for U.N. Secretary General António Guterres confirmed Tuesday that the organization received the U.S. notice of withdrawal from the WHO. President Trump has for weeks blasted the agency’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic as well as its pro-China bias.
The White House also notified congressional lawmakers Tuesday of the planned withdrawal, effective July 2021.
