Olympia Mayor Supports BLM, They Vandalize Her House; “It’s Like Domestic Terrorism. It’s Not Fair.”

Mayor Cheryl Selby changes her tune on rioters once they wreck her house.

As the old saying goes, “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”

Many liberal mayors across the country have emboldened rioters with their cowardly refusals to acknowledge their “protests” for what they really are. Riots.

As MSN reports, Olympia, Washington Mayor Cheryl Selby became a target of the anarchist groups she had previously supported:

On Friday night, two groups converged in downtown Olympia, and some became destructive, burning flags, smashing windows, and spray painting businesses and Olympia Mayor Cheryl Selby’s home.

One group was made up of about 50 black-clad protesters who came to Sylvester Park for a rally advertised on social media as an event akin to last Friday’s protest downtown with an open mic. The other group of around 30 wore neon-yellow T-shirts with the word “peacekeeper” emblazoned on the front and back, some holding paintball guns.

The black-clad group eventually marched up Capitol Way and into the South Capitol neighborhood to Olympia Mayor Cheryl Selby’s house. There, the group chanted “abolish the police,” and a person spray painted her front porch and door with “BLM.” A man with a flat, metal paddle-like object who was backed up by a line of cars told the group to leave, threatening them if they didn’t.

Quite a way to say “thank-you.”

The Daily Wire points out that before this incident, Selby had been a champion of the cause:

The person who spray-painted Selby’s home had to find space on the wall, since Selby had a pride flag and a Black Lives Matter already posted outside her house.

Earlier this month, Selby released a statement supporting the protests and saying she would not institute a curfew, stating sympathy for the police-involved death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd, which sparked the protests and riots across the nation.

“Every day since his murder, our country has shaken,” Selby said, according to the Olympian. “Convulsing between fear, rage, and nausea. We should feel sick. Those of us who hold the most microphones in our communities should feel nauseous.”

Now it seems like the convulsions got a little too close for comfort.

In an interview with local paper, The Olympian, Selby seems to have lost her patience with the “1st Amendment” rights of the anarchists:

“I’m really trying to process this,” she told The Olympian over the phone Saturday. “It’s like domestic terrorism. It’s unfair.

“It hurts when you’re giving so much to your community,” she said.

This is not the first time Selby’s home has been targeted by protesters. Two years ago, during a May Day protest, protesters gathered in her neighborhood, spreading around leaflets and directing chants at her.

She feels bad for her neighbors, many of whom are families with young children who she said are now afraid that protesters will continue to come.

“People have so little grace for each other right now. We need to have more grace,” Selby said.

Her husband wasn’t too pleased either.

In fact, he points out to local Fox affiliate Q13 that this defacing of their home wasn’t even the first incident!

“I don’t have a problem if they want to protest in the street and get across a point. But when they start doing damage to our home and threatening our livelihood and our neighbors, then they’ve gone too far,” said Jeff Engle.

Engle didn’t see any damage happen to his home in-person, but said his surveillance camera captured an incident. In the video, a person is seen spraying “B-L-M” on the side of his home, feet away from a BLM sign already placed in the window.

“This is not the first event we’ve had at our house,” he said.

Engle said his home was targeted because his wife, Cheryl Selby, is the mayor of Olympia.

“I’m concerned for my wife’s safety. Our girls are visiting. I’m concerned for their safety, and I’m really concerned for the neighborhood,” he said.

Happy wife, happy life right??

Despite her ordeal, Mayor Selby didn’t find too much sympathy online:
