White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany reassured voters that they should not be worried about exercising their right to vote in the November elections.
Though Democrats have proposed mail-in voting, there have been legitimate fears that it could lead to ballot harvesting.
There are many examples of ballot harvesting being linked to increased voter fraud.
"I think there's a way to safely vote if you can safely protest," McEnany told reporters.
Indeed, after George Floyd's death, there have been countless protests across the nation.
We've all seen images of tens of thousands of protesters marching in the streets, shoulder to shoulder.
The reality is that with mitigation and proper protocols, we can ensure a safe election for everyone without jeopardizing the integrity of the results.
Watch McEnany's spot-on comments below:
The First Amendment protects many rights, including the right to free speech and the right to religion.
However, Democrats have appeared to allow certain rights to exist during COVID-19 while squashing others.
For examples, Democrats encouraged protests and unruly behavior in the wake of George Floyd's death.
But they want to continue keeping churches closed.
This type of hypocrisy is what McEnany called out during the press conference, Breitbart reports:
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Wednesday argued that voters should not be worried about voting in November in the presidential election..
“I think there’s a way to safely vote if you can safely protest,” McEnany said during the White House Press briefing.
One reporter asked McEnany whether it would be safe to vote in the November election amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“You’re asking a hypothetical about something five months from now at a time ironically when the media has expressed much outrage about a lack of mitigation efforts taken by some of the protesters,” she said.
McEnany said that people who were allowed to exercise their First Amendment right to protest even though many Churches were still closed.
Many people took to social media to support McEnany's comments.
Mail-in voting is not popular among many voters and has long-been associated with voter fraud and election stealing.
McEnany's comments come just hours after Biden claimed that Trump will try to "steal the election."
After 3 years of investigating Russia, there was never any evidence of alleged Trump-Russia collusion.
Yet Biden is pushing this narrative 5 months before a single ballot is cast.
Furthermore, in-person voting with voter ID would MINIMIZE the risk of any voter fraud.
Compare this to mail-in ballots or ballot harvesting, which have inherent security risks.
ABC News confirms Biden's unfounded accusation:
Former vice president and presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden issued a stark warning to voters about President Donald Trump, and his attempts to limit access to voting in November.
“This president's going to try to steal this election,” Biden said in an interview with "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" Wednesday night.
The comments came after the host asked Biden about the recent Georgia primary election which resulted in long lines for voters after issues with both in-person voting and vote by mail requests.
Biden said access to voting was his “single greatest concern,” and was critical of Trump’s efforts to discredit the use of mail-in ballots--a method of voting the president himself had used.
“This is a guy who said that all mail-in ballots are fraudulent, voting by mail, while he sits behind the desk in the Oval Office and writes his mail-in ballot to vote in the primary,” Biden said.
While Biden had previously suggested Trump might attempt to delay the general election, the comments from Biden articulate the most direct warning from the former vice president as the campaign continues to ramp up ahead of November.
The Democratic presidential nominee also told the late night host that he is “absolutely convinced” that the military will "escort" President Trump from the White House if he refuses to leave, alluding to the recent scathing criticism of the commander-in-chief from top former military officials like former Defense Secretary James Mattis and former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.
“You have four chiefs of staff coming out and ripping the skin off of Trump, and so many rank-and-file military personnel saying, ‘Whoa, we're not a military state. This is not who we are.’ I promise you, I'm absolutely convinced they will escort him from the White House with great dispatch,” Biden said.
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany dismissed Biden’s comments that President Trump would have to be escorted from the White House if he loses in November.
“I think that's a ridiculous proposition. This president is looking forward to November, this president is hard at work for the American people. Leave it to Democrats to go out there and grandstand and level these conspiracy theories,” McEnany told Fox News Thursday morning.
The American people do not appreciate conspiracy theories.
They want the truth. They want facts.
Biden's comments and accusations will not be accepted by voters.
Trump has an incredibly strong record to run on and will continue to remind voters that he has kept every promise and will keep them again!
