MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski is being haunted by an old video from 2017 that has recently gone viral again.
On Morning Joe, Brzezinski claimed that it is the “job” of the media to “control exactly what people think.”
She added that it isn’t just “to report the news.”
Wow.
Of course, for Trump supporters, this isn’t a surprise, but the admission from Brzezinski may make swing voters think twice.
One of the latest examples of the media “controling exactly what people think” is the refusal of both MSNBC and CNN to air Trump’s daily coronavirus pressers live.
Rather than airing the press briefings live, both networks cherry pick statements to criticize hours after the briefing ends.
In other words, they get to filter the news that their viewers receive.
No wonder the president calls them “Fake News!”
Watch Brzezinski’s admission that she thinks it’s her “job” to “control exactly what people think” below:
Isn't the job of the media to report the news?
Objectively?
That's what a REAL journalist does.
Their job is to report the facts. What the viewer believes is up to the viewer, not the journalist.
TheFree Beacon confirms Brzezinski's jarring comments:
MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski criticized President Donald Trump on Wednesday for undermining the media's message by creating his own facts, adding that the "job" of the media is to "control exactly what people think."
Brzezinski made the comment on "Morning Joe" after co-host Joe Scarborough said that he agreed with a panelist's view that Trump supporters are wondering why people are so upset over what the president is doing since he is implementing exactly what he campaigned on.
"What Yamiche [Alcindor] said is what I hear from all the Trump supporters that I talk to, who were Trump voters and are still Trump supporters," Scarborough said. "They go, ‘Yeah, you guys are going crazy. He's doing–what are you so surprised about? He's doing exactly what he said he's going to do.'"
Brzezinski said she is concerned about what Trump's presidency may mean for the media.
"Well, and I think that the dangerous, you know, edges here are that he's trying to undermine the media, trying to make up his own facts," she said.
Brzezinski then appeared to argue that the media's job is to control what people think, adding that the president is interfering with it.
No wonder the news media have such a low approval rating in this country!
A Gallup poll shows that 26 percent of Americans believe the media is "Too Liberal," compared to just 15 percent who believe it is "Too Conservative."
The strange thing is that Mika used to be friends with Donald Trump... that is, until he ran for president.
In fact, Mika and Joe Scarborough had considered getting married at Mar-a-Lago!
Furthermore, when they were friends, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner even offered to officiate the wedding!
So clearly... Mika had no issues with Trump as an individual, but for some reason turned on him the moment he announced to run for president.
Business Insider confirms:
Trump and top adviser Jared Kushner offered to officiate "Morning Joe" hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski's wedding, according to one recent report.
Vanity Fair reported last month that according to Scarborough, the president suggested in January that the couple be married at the White House or Trump's Mar-a-Lago club.
"Jared interrupted and said, 'Hey, you know what? I’ve got my license. I could marry you,'" Scarborough told Vanity Fair.
"'Why would you marry them? They could have the President of the United States marry them,'" Scarborough said Trump interjected.
Though Brzezinski dismissed the possibility of being married at the White House, it is unclear whether the offer would stand today.
The once-cozy relationship between the couple and the president appears to have hit a rough patch since he took office. Both Brzezinski and Scarborough have been increasingly critical of some administration figures and policy decisions, ripping his rollout of the travel ban earlier this year, and barring one of his top advisers from the show.
Brzezinski told the Los Angeles Times earlier this year that she and the president are no longer on speaking terms, which she blamed on her gender and outspoken criticism of Trump.
"He just won't even engage," she said. "Joe will punch him in the face and he'll come back for more."
And Mika thinks she should be the one to tell people what they think?!
Is she going to be honest about her past friendship with Donald Trump to her audience?
The evidence suggests that Mika is not interested in telling or reporting the truth.
Rather, like the rest of the mainstream media, she wants to feel like she's influencing the discourse in American politics.
Fortunately, this video showcases her true agenda.

For the record, Mika later attempted to "clarify" her comments this way:

SCARBOROUGH: Exactly. That is exactly what I hear. What Yamiche [Alcindor] said is what I hear from all the Trump supporters that I talk to who were Trump voters and are still Trump supporters. They go, 'Yeah you guys are going crazy. He's doing -- what are you so surprised about? He is doing exactly what he said he is going to do.'
BRZEZINSKI: Well, I think that the dangerous, you know, edges here are that he is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts. And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job.
