Tax Warrant on Alexandria Ocasio Cortez Reportedly Remains Unpaid

What happens if you don't pay your taxes?

You go to jail.

What happens if you're a (Democrat) member of Congress and don't pay your taxes?

Apparently, nothing.

Because despite a tax warrant issued on the infamous AOC reportedly relating to a failed business venture, the tax bill remains unpaid and AOC remains unjailed.

Unreal.

Take a look at this:

Fox News had more:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to raise taxes on the rich — just not pay her own.

The Democratic socialist congresswoman from the Bronx still hasn’t paid a 7-year-old tax bill left over from a failed business venture.

AOC had founded Brook Avenue Press, a publishing house that sought designers, artists and writers from urban areas to help paint the Bronx in a positive way in children’s stories, in 2012.

As the Post previously reported, public records show the state dissolved the company in October 2016. The state can make such a move when a business fails to pay corporate taxes or file a return.

The state Tax Department then filed a warrant against her now-defunct business on July 6, 2017, over a $1,618.36 unpaid bill.

As of Friday, the tax warrant had still not been satisfied, and the outstanding balance had grown to $2,088.78, the department said.

“She just thinks she’s better than everyone else. Clearly, she’s worse,” said Hank Sheinkopf, spokesman for AOC’s chief June primary-race opponent, Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, to The Post.

But Ocasio-Cortez’s camp says the rep is challenging the $2,088.78 bill because it was issued “in error."

“The congresswoman is still in the process of contesting the tax warrant. The business has been closed for several years now, and so we believe that the state Tax Department has continued to collect the franchise tax in error,” said Lauren Hitt, an AOC spokeswoman.

“As anyone who’s tried to contest a tax bill in error knows, it takes time,” Hitt added.

AOC, a first-term incumbent, will face Democratic voters in the June 23 primary in the 14th Congressional District covering portions of the Bronx and Queens.

She shocked the political world when she toppled ex-Congressman and former Queens Democratic Party Chairman Joe Crowley in the 2018 Democratic primary.

Mandated shutdowns have resulted in millions of jobs lost.

Unemployment claims are at all time highs.

Unemployment benefits are paid through taxpayers, yet the New York Post reports that AOC hasn't paid a $2,000 tax bill since 2012:

It's easy to talk about taxing the rich, but it appears that AOC doesn't even want to follow her own proposed policies.

Let's hope they stay that way... PROPOSED policies.

Earning $174,000 a year to sit and spew hot air in Congress easily puts her in the top bracket of earners in the United States.

The average FAMILY makes a median income of $54,000 a year.

AOC makes over 3 times that amount and has no partner or dependents to support.

Yet... she hasn't paid her tax bill and is even claiming that it was issued in error!

Meanwhile, AOC has protected illegal aliens and claimed that they pay more taxes than many Americans:

This shocking revelation of unpaid taxes comes less than 2 days after AOC appeared to bash Bill Gates for not paying enough taxes.

Gates was trying to get donations from billionaires to help with coronavirus relief efforts.

However, AOC took to Twitter to suggest that billionaires should actually pay their taxes, Business Insider reports:

"If only there were some public fund billionaires could pay into along with everyone else that helps fund our infrastructure, hospitals, and public systems all at once," the progressive lawmaker said. She was commenting on a Recode report that the Microsoft cofounder and philanthropist could pool billionaires' donations or launch a philanthropic platform for them.

"It could even be a modest % of what they earn every year. We could have an agency collect it and everything," Ocasio-Cortez, who goes by "AOC," continued.

"If it helps, they could think of it as a subscription service to living in an advanced society," the congresswoman said in a second tweet.

"Just imagine billionaires paying enough so teachers in the US don't have to work multiple jobs and sell their own blood plasma to survive," she added. "Call me radical, but it might be worth it."

Oh, boy....

THIS is who the Democrats want to be the future of their party?!

If the media would quit focusing on identity politics and actually report on the radical policies embraced by far left representatives, perhaps they wouldn't be as popular and influential as they are today.
