Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson Join Forces with Michelle Obama for Virtual Voter Registration Event

Never underestimate liberals’ willingness to use celebrity star power to make their bad ideas seem like good ones.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, both of whom recently recovered from COVID, co-hosted an online voter registration event with Michelle Obama. The event, dubbed “Couch Party 2.0,” was sponsored by the left-leaning group When We All Vote. Michelle Obama created the group in 2018 and quickly added a cast of left-leaning celebrities, such as Hanks and Wilson.

The aim of the event? Make voting effortless! The question remains, effortless for who? Stripping elections of protections from voter fraud, such as requiring identification, won’t make our elections better. It’ll undermine them.

Of course, Obama and her progressive celebrity friends heavily pushed the importance of mail-in voting during the event.

Check out some of the other celebrities that promoted the event:

Read what the New York Post detailed about the celebrity-powered event:

Former first lady Michelle Obama was joined by Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson for her voter registration “couch party” event to stump for mail-in voting as the coronavirus pandemic has shifted the debate on safe voting practices.

Hanks and Wilson, who were the first celebrities to announce they had tested positive for the virus, took part in Obama’s Monday evening When We All Vote #CouchParty event along with thousands of volunteers and supporters who joined in from their own homes.

Hanks and Wilson are co-chairs of the group alongside Obama, who founded the effort.

Obama spoke by phone to attendees about the importance of voting being accessible to all, especially through voting-by-mail, given the dangers of the pandemic. The former first lady also noted that she and husband Barack Obama have sent in their ballots for “every election for the last decade.”

“Voting should never, ever be difficult and it should never be a partisan issue,” she continued.

This isn't the first time Hanks has teamed up with Obama to spread the group's liberal propaganda. He appeared in When We All Vote's following video just earlier this month:

Breitbart had more to add on Obama's group:

The group sponsoring the event, When We All Vote, was launched in 2018 by a group of far-left singers, actors, and sports figures. It is, co-chaired by Michelle Obama, and claims to be “non-partisan,” but counts partisan sponsors such as Vote Latino, the NAACP, the NBA, the NEA, the National Urban League, the XQ Institute, and many others.

Last week, When We All Vote backed the Democrat-sponsored bill to increase vote-by-mail options in U.S. elections.

Founding members of the group along with Obama includes Lin-Maneul Miranda, Soccer star and gay activist Megan Rapinoe, Actresses Shonda Rhimes, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Kerry Washington, and NBA player Chris Paul.

The group utilizes community organizing to sign up as may voters as possible and claims to have organized 2,500 events engaging with 200 million voters in the last national election cycle. And last year, the group also began operating inside American high schools.

Most recently the group has backed the highly controversial and partisan effort to radically change our elections by instituting national mail-in ballots.

Mail-in voting has become a contentious topic in the news recently.

Democrats appear to be all-in for it, which should raise some eyebrows. Republicans, on the other hand, are asking questions about how fraud will be prevented.

Take a look at what's trending on mail-in voting on Twitter:

While it's important that we get the votes counted for all Americans that exercise their constitutional right, its also important that we have systems in place to prevent abuses that could sway elections.

Celebrities like Hanks and Wilson aren't who we should look to where election integrity is concerned.
