Former Florida Democratic candidate Andrew Gillum was just 32,463 votes away from becoming governor of the state.

Now, reports indicate that he was found inebriated in a hotel room with a deceased man who “overdosed.” on meth.

It is also being reported that the victim is a well known gay escort in the state.

Police also found several clear plastic bags containing what they believe is crystal meth.

Gillum, of course, has been long seen as a “rising star” for Democrats.

Since his governorship loss in Florda, he was hired a commentator in CNN and regularly appears on the network to give his opinion on political events.

More on this shocking news:

The victim is reported to be Travis Dyson, a 30-year old gay pornstar performer.

His Instagram was taken down after news broke of his death.

However, many online users were quick to recognize the man as a gay sex worker.

This isn't the first time that Dyson and Gillum were known to have spent time together. Dyson once said that he and Gillum have "been friends for a while."

No foul play is currently suspected.

The Western Journal has more details on what happened:

More details about former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, who narrowly lost the Florida gubernatorial race in 2018, and the “inebriated state” he was found in early Friday morning have been released.

Gillum was found in a Mondrian South Beach Hotel room in Miami Beach with Travis Dyson, a 30-year-old who identifies himself as a “pornstar performer,” according to WPLG, which cited his profile on a gay male escort website called Rent Men.

The news outlet also said Dyson had shared videos of himself with a muscular man identified as his boyfriend on social media, but his Instagram page appears to have been taken down as of Saturday morning.

According to police documents, police responded to a cardiac-arrest distress call at around 1 a.m. and the Miami Beach Fire-Rescue was on scene treating Dyson for a possible drug overdose, the Miami New Times reported.

The police report said three bags of what was suspected to be crystal methamphetamine were also found “in plain sight.”

Aldo Mejias, who said he had lent Dyson his credit card information to rent a hotel room Friday afternoon, told responding officers that when he arrived at the hotel room at around 11 p.m., Dyson collapsed on a bed and began vomiting.

Gillum also appeared to be “under the influence of an unknown substance” and vomited in the bathroom while Mejias gave Dyson CPR, Mejias said.

Politico also confirms that police found Gillum "inebriated" in the hotel room with a deceased body:

Andrew Gillum, a Florida Democrat who narrowly lost a bid for governor in 2018, was found “inebriated” and vomiting in a hotel room with another man apparently experiencing a drug overdose, according to a police report.

The Miami Beach Police Department responded to an emergency call from the hotel room early Friday morning. Police impounded several clear plastic bags of what appeared to be crystal meth.

First responders provided treatment to Travis Dyson, age 30, who later was hospitalized. He is conscious and in stable condition, according to the report filed Friday.

Aldo Mejias, who had rented the room, told police he arrived at the hotel Thursday shortly before midnight to find Gillum and Dyson “under the influence of an unknown substance,” according to the police report.

Ever since the news broke, video from Project Veritas has been going viral again.

A former campaign staffer was caught on video describing Gillum as "part of the crazy, crazy, crazies."

See it for yourself:

While the police are investigating exactly what happened, Republicans are not rushing to judgement.

However, Rep Matt Gaetz did poke fun, saying that what Gillum did is not COVID-19 hygienic.

Many in Florida are pointing out that the state "dodged a bullet" by not electing Gillum as governor.

It is unclear how this will effect his political future or role as a commentator on CNN.

The Washington Examiner covered Gaetz's remarks:

Rep. Matt Gaetz poked fun at former Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum after the news broke that he was allegedly found by police too drunk to speak in a hotel room with bags of crystal meth.

“Everyone should respect @AndrewGillum’s privacy as he explains why he was one of three men in a hotel room w 3 bags of meth, too impaired to talk to first responders,” the Republican congressman said on Twitter. “I know what you’re all thinking - this is not very COVID-19 hygienic. #GillumSurge.”

It was reported on Friday that Gillum, who became a CNN contributor last year, was found incoherent in a Miami hotel room containing crystal meth by police with two other men, one of whom was suffering from a suspected meth overdose.

Gillum released a statement claiming he was in town for a wedding and admitting he had “too much to drink” but has “never” used meth.

The local police are currently investigating this story.

Andrew Gillum himself has yet to issue a public statement.

We will continue to post updates as they become available!
