Trump, DHS To Deploy Elite Tactical Border Patrol Agents To Sanctuary Cities

President Trump takes a major step in cracking down on sanctuary cities!

The cities that harbor criminal illegal immigrants will now be visited by the elite Border Patrol unit called BORTAC.

Our President is keeping his promise to be tough on border control and illegal immigration.

Liberal outrage in 3……2…….1…….

Kamala called them "immigrant communities".

I guess she forgot to mention the "illegal" part.

Liberals can't seem to get past the difference between legal and illegal immigration.

Read more about it from ABC News:

The Trump administration is redirecting agents from a specially trained Border Patrol unit to help ramp up arrests and removals of undocumented immigrants in "sanctuary cities," multiple law enforcement officials confirmed Friday.

Members of the U.S. Border Patrol Tactical Unit, a rapid-response security force, are deploying to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Chicago and New York. Other agents from several ports of entry and field stations along the border are expected to be sent to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, Boston, New Orleans, Detroit and Newark, New Jersey, a senior Customs and Border Protection official confirmed.

Some 100 agents will be sent to assist the ICE deportation force, the official said.

"ICE does not have sufficient resources to effectively manage the sustained increase in non-detained cases which is exacerbated by the rise of sanctuary jurisdictions," according to a Department of Homeland Security statement.

As the number of unauthorized border crossings continue to decline, the new deployments indicate a shift in Homeland Security’s enforcement measures to the interior of the U.S. and the front lines of the sanctuary city debate.

Such a move wouldn’t have been possible this time last year, when it was Border Patrol asking ICE for extra help to detain migrants at the southern border, according to a senior Border Patrol official."As we have noted for years, in jurisdictions where we are not allowed to assume custody of aliens from jails, our officers are forced to make at-large arrests of criminal aliens who have been released into communities," Matthew Albence. the acting director of ICE, said in a statement. "This effort requires a significant amount of additional time and resources."

The Democrats will probably try to impeach Trump over this too.

Sanctuary cities are illegal, and the President has threatened to cut federal funding to them.

If the cities won't do their jobs, our President will do it for them.

Here is more from NBC News:

The Trump administration will deploy 100 tactical Border Patrol officers to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 10 so-called sanctuary cities across the nation, a senior official with the Department of Homeland Security said Friday.

The decision to deploy the officers comes after the administration has recently repeatedly targeted sanctuary cities that limit cooperation with immigration enforcement authorities.

The Customs and Border Protection officers were being sent to work with ICE in those cities from February to May to “enhance integrity of the immigration system, protect public safety, and strengthen our national security,” the official said.

CBP typically detains people along the border, at airports and ports of entry, and has broader authority when operating within 100 miles of a U.S. border, while ICE conducts immigration arrests in the rest of the country.

Acting ICE Director Matthew Albence said in statement that in "jurisdictions where we are not allowed to assume custody" of immigrants from jail, their immigration officers were "forced to make at-large arrests" of immigrants who had been "released into communities."

“When sanctuary cities release these criminals back to the street, it increases the occurrence of preventable crimes, and more importantly, preventable victims," he said.

A senior DHS official said the cities targeted in the deployment were New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, Boston, New Orleans, Detroit and Newark, New Jersey. The deployment will run from February to May, according to the official.

News of the deployment was first reported by The New York Times.

A DHS official said that CBP agents and officers in the deployment come from different sectors and that some have been trained in tactical operations.

Liberals in the media call this a human rights violation.

I call it the enforcement of the law, something that our nation was founded on.

Remember 2018, when there was a national emergency over thousands of migrants marching to the southern border?

Trump deployed the active Army to defend our border.

His plan worked that time, and I'm sure this will work to clean up our sanctuary cities.

Here's an article from US News & World Report:

THE TRUMP administration will send specially trained officers from the southern border to so-called sanctuary cities to help with immigration enforcement operations in a clear escalation of President Donald Trump's ongoing conflict with localities that limit law-enforcement cooperation with immigration authorities.

The officers will be sent by Customs and Border Protection, the agency which houses Border Patrol, to aid in arrest operations carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Operations will take place in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, Boston, New Orleans, Detroit and Newark, New Jersey, according to The New York Times, which first reported the development.

The officers being deployed include those assigned to specialized tactical teams within CBP, like the elite Border Patrol Tactical Unit, or BORTAC.

BORTAC agents have training similar to special forces personnel and often wield specialized equipment. They carry out high-risk security operations along the border, such as raiding drug stash houses or targeting individuals known to be violent.

The move to send the agents to aid ICE appears in part aimed at sending a message to immigrants in the 10 cities where operations are scheduled to take place and could escalate what are otherwise normal enforcement actions.
