I bet you didn’t see this on the news.
I sure didn’t.
But that’s why you have me, to show you things like this.
Here is LSU head coach Ed Orgeron calling out and thanking President Trump for his support this season.
Very classy, watch:
The Washington Examier had more, including details on a phone call between the two men:
Louisiana State University football coach Ed Orgeron thanked President Trump for coming out for the team's national championship clash Monday in New Orleans.
“I’m so proud of the state of Louisiana," Orgeron said live on ESPN following the game. "We’ve had support from the governor, from the president, from everybody that follows LSU.”
Trump flew from Washington, D.C., to New Orleans for the game and walked out onto the field before the game. He was met with thunderous applause, and cheers of "U-S-A" broke out in the Superdome.
During the game, Trump sat in a private booth next to Rep. Steve Scalise, a Republican who represents the New Orleans suburbs in Congress. The president was visited during the game by actor and comedian Vince Vaughn.
Trump called Orgeron in December and congratulated him on qualifying for the national championship.
"He was very pleasant to talk to," the coach said of Trump. "Very complimentary of our football team, our coaching staff. Complimentary of the way the state of Louisiana has rallied around us. Was complimentary of the way we played all year and wished us good luck in the game."
