Fox News personalities Dan Bongino and Geraldo Rivera clashed Thursday evening over President Donald Trump’s decision to kill Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.
During an interview on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, the trio discussed the president approving a decisive airstrike that killed Soleimani, a brutal terrorist who has killed or orchestrated attacks that killed thousands of Americans.
The fiery debate centered on one question: whether or not Soleimani should have been killed and what it means for the future of the world.

After Geraldo attacked Trump for the strike and seemed to side with Iran that the U.S. overstepped, Bongino blasted him with almost zero filter.
“He picked an unnecessary fight,” Rivera said about Trump’s action against Soleimani. “I don’t know what we are doing there. We don’t need their oil anymore. Let them fight each other and eat each other alive. The Shiites and Sunnis and their multi-thousands of year battle.”
Bongino dropped the hammer on Geraldo.
“I’ve got to tell you, Geraldo, I’ve been pretty furious with some of your comments on the network,” Bongino said. “I haven’t knocked you until I faced you live. But I’ve got to tell you, your comments have been absolutely atrocious.”

Rivera then touted his record of covering wartime tours in Iraq and adding he’s been to too many funerals of the men and women of the U.S. armed forces to count.
Bongino countered by reminding him that Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of countless American troops.
“Geraldo, he sent 600 Americans home in body bags!” Bongino shouted, referring to Gen. Soleimani. “It’s not like he showed up late for a birthday party! Get your head out of your butt! Are you kidding me?”
Rivera backed down a notch after that, accusing Bongino of “gutter surfing” while saying he would never attack him personally.
Soon after the strike almost two weeks ago, Trump promised the world he wanted "peace" as he spoke from the White House in the wake of the Iranian missile attacks directed at U.S. forces in Iraq.
Trump declared that Iran “appears to be standing down” adding that the attacks Iraq resulted in “no casualties.”
“The American people should be extremely grateful and happy,” Trump said, in an address to the nation from the White House the morning after the attacks. “No Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime.”

Trump continued to stand by his decision that began this sparked this recent conflict, saying on Wednesday that “Soleimani’s hands were drenched in both American and Iranian blood.”
The president touted the military under his administration but added: “The fact that we have this great military and equipment, however, does not mean we need to use it. … We do not want to use it.”
Trump said, “The U.S. is ready to embrace peace with all who seek it.”
