Democrat Mike Quigley: “Hearsay can be much better evidence than direct evidence”

Well, I think this guy failed law school.

Democrat Mike Quigley went on record today in Congress as saying “hearsay can be MUCH better evidence than direct evidence.”

Ummmm, wrong Mike.

Sorry.

You fail 1L Evidence class.

And in case you needed a refresher, let’s just give the definition of hearsay since you apparently didn’t learn it in law school.

Hearsay = “an out of court statement offered for the truth of the matter asserted.”

You’re welcome.

Hearsay is notoriously unreliable as evidence, which is why courts OF EVERY KIND do not allow it except in rare circumstances under an exception.

And yet you think it’s better than direct evidence?

I think it’s time to revoke the old law degree buddy!

Rep. Steve Scalise set him straight too:
