Ok, I think you’re really going to like this woman.

Alabama Businesswoman Jessica Taylor says she’s running for Congress for one reason….to take on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her “Squad”.

Taylor says she can build her own Squad and start to clean up Congress from the cesspool we currently have.

I like her already!

Here's more, from the Alabama Daily News:

Prattville attorney and businesswoman Jessica Taylor announced her candidacy for Congress in Alabama’s 2nd District Monday, saying she wants to form a “conservative squad” to take on liberal Democrats led by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY.

In a campaign video, Taylor highlighted her rural Alabama roots, business career, and family with former State Sen. Bryan Taylor. But it’s her love of playing on the basketball team that Taylor connects to using teamwork to support President Donald Trump.

“I’m sick of arrogant socialists like AOC, who’ve never even run a lemonade stand, trying to tell us how to live in Alabama and that more government is the answer,” she says in the video.

“I have zero interest in being a professional politician, but conservatives like us need a squad of our own — and I’ll build it.”

Taylor is a native of rural Etowah County and graduated from Jacksonville State University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She earned her law degree from Jones School of Law in Montgomery while working in the Governor’s Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives. She and her husband, Bryan, have three children and live in Prattville.

Inside Alabama Politics first reported in September that Jessica Taylor was considering a run for Congress in Alabama’s 2nd District, where five term incumbent Rep. Martha Roby recently announced she is not seeking reelection. As IAP reported:

After working in the Governor’s Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives, Taylor started her own consulting business that has grown into a multi-state operation. Her story as an attorney, entrepreneur and mother of three has caught the attention of well-funded Washington-based political groups, including those keen on electing more Republican women to office. Some are said to be coveting the “anti-AOC,” a young, attractive, tough-talking female conservative who can go toe-to-toe with Brooklyn Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her “squad” of fellow progressives. If Jessica Taylor could fit that bill – and could raise enough money – she could be competitive in the AL-2 primary.

Earlier this month, Alabama Daily News reported that Bryan Taylor stepped down from his position as General Counsel to Gov. Kay Ivey in order to make way for his wife, Jessica to run for Congress.

“In this endeavor, she deserves my full support, and I want to be available to her whenever she needs it – for supplying my advice and counsel, should she ask for it, and for providing personal encouragement when the going gets tough. As a matter of conscience, I must resign because it could become difficult, eventually, to serve both you and Jessica faithfully without inviting criticism of your administration, unfair as it may be,” Bryan Taylor wrote in his resignation letter.

His advice could prove useful in race. In 2010, Bryan Taylor won a State Senate seat comprised of six of the 15 counties making up Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District: Autauga, Elmore, Montgomery, Butler, Crenshaw and Pike.

And from RedState:

Back in July, Republican Rep. Martha Roby (AL-02) announced she would be retiring from Congress at the end of her term after serving since 2011.

Since that time, a number of GOP competitors have jumped into the primary race. But on Monday, a new candidate entered the race with a splashy ad that is turning heads and has people wanting to know more about her and what she stands for.

Jessica Taylor threw her hat into the ring, making herself the sixth Republican – and first woman – to declare their intentions for the Congressional seat. She vowed to take on AOC and the rest of the “Squad”, and declared that she is an unapologetic conservative and Trump supporter:

She told “Fox and Friends” in an interview this morning that “We need somebody who can convince my generation and others that more government is not the answer. More government is the problem.”

Indeed.
