HISTORIC: President Trump Officially Signs Border Wall With Black Sharpie!

“You can fry an egg on that wall!” President Trump commented during his trip to the border wall at the Otay Mesa, CA-Mexico border, where he was asked to sign the wall that was his doing in an incredible moment that will do down in U.S. history!

President Trump was informed about the tradition for visitors to the new border wall to sign it, and so our president added his name to the wall he promised to built back at the start of his campaign for presidency and now is seeing come to fruition!

Check out the historic moment President Trump signed the wall at the U.S.-Mexico border posted by Students for Trump on Twitter:

President Trump signing the wall was not the only highlight of his trip to the border at Otay Mesa for the first time in over a year!

During his visit to the border, President Trump also spoke transparently about the "wired technology" that the wall features.

Here's what the president had to say about that:

The New York Times has more to say about President Trump placing his signature on the wall:

One thing President Trump loves about his job is signing his name. He relishes signing executive orders, letters to foreign leaders and even red Make America Great Again hats. But on Wednesday, he signed a wall.

At the invitation of the team building his new barrier along the border, he affixed his distinctive signature to one of the steel slats that have risen just opposite Mexico in recent months, the most physical manifestation of what he plans to make his argument for a second term next year and, he hopes, his place in the history books.

Mr. Trump flew to this dusty community outside San Diego on a hot, sunny day to highlight the progress, however halting, that he said was finally being made after a couple of years of frustration and political opposition. Like a builder showing off a new tower in New York, he talked in detail about the new barrier, explaining how the 30-foot slats are erected with rebar inside and then filled with concrete and boasting that it would be the most impenetrable wall in the world.

“The wall has a ways to go, but we’re building it at breakneck speed,” he said, surrounded by Border Patrol agents and construction workers. “When this is completed,” he added, “there won’t be a border anywhere like this.”

USA Today also spoke about the historic trip:

President Donald Trump completed a two-day swing through California on Wednesday by visiting the U.S.-Mexico border and claiming that recently completed border fence replacement would stop people trying to enter the U.S. illegally.

Trump, speaking to reporters, said people trying to enter the U.S. would not be able to scale the fence because it is designed to absorb heat.

“You can fry an egg on that wall,” he said during his stop in the San Diego neighborhood of Otay Mesa.

A construction worker told Trump it is tradition for visitors to sign the wall. The president obliged.

Trump, who faced criticism earlier in his presidency for shifting positions on how he thought the border barrier would be designed, used some of his most forceful language yet to defend the "bollard fence" design that also had been used during President Barack Obama's administration.

“This is the one that was hardest to climb," Trump said.

Trump claimed "20 mountain climbers" were tasked with trying to scale the structure to test its effectiveness. But, he said, “this wall can’t be climbed.”

Trump had reportedly told aides previously he wanted the wall painted black to better absorb heat. Asked about the color scheme on Wednesday, Trump said he took the advice of aides that it would be “better off letting it be a natural rust.”

Trump said “we’ll make a determination later” about painting it.
