Former Director of the Nobel Institute, Geir Lundestad, has written in a new book about awarding the Peace Prize to Obama: “Even many of Obama’s supporters believed that the prize was a mistake,” he says. “In that sense the committee didn’t achieve what it had hoped for”.

Remember that Nobel Peace Prize that President Obama got in 2009? Well, maybe it wasn’t such a good idea after all, a former top Nobel official said.

Also revealed is that Obama thought so little of the prize that he considered not even going to Oslo to pick it up, something that was nearly unprecedented.
