Beauty queen Kathy Zhu – a vocal conservative Trump supporter who won the title of Miss Michigan – has been banned from further competitions and stripped of her title by Miss World America.
Why?
Cheating?
Crime?
No.
According to Zhu, who goes by the Twitter handle Political Kathy on the social media platform, she was punished for “insensitive tweets”, the first of which was one Kathy posted on Twitter after she refused to wear a. hijab on “World Hijab Day.”
The second tweet that got Kathy kicked out of the Miss World competition and her crown taken away was one where she shared the fact that most black deaths by crime are caused by other black people.
An email that the Miss World America organization sent to Kathy said that the tweets violated their of “being of good character and whose background is not likely to bring into disrepute Miss World America.”
