Democrats Begin Turning on Ilhan Omar, Refunding and Rejecting Her Donations

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar is no stranger to controversy, as we’ve seen on many occasions in the recent past.

Omar (D-MN) has faced serious backlash from both sides of the political aisle when it comes to her comments on current issues and events, such as Israel and 9/11.

Some Democrats, fed up with Ilhan Omar and her antics, have begun to distance themselves from the freshmen congresswoman.

It seems that things have gotten so bad for Omar that Democrats in the House of Representatives are beginning to refund and refuse her campaign donations. This seems to be an obvious effort from these Democrats to disassociate themselves from Omar and her message.

According to the Daily Wire:

Democrats in the House of Representatives have started to reject and refund campaign donations from Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) over Omar’s anti-Semitism scandal and her recent trivialization of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The Washington Free Beacon reported on Wednesday that the reelection campaign for Rep. Lucy McBath (D-GA) left a $2,000 contribution from Omar off its quarterly fundraising report, and, when pressed by the Free Beacon, admitted that they left the money off the report because they decided to reject it.

WSCO TV also reported that North Carolina Representative Dan McCready (D-NC) also refunded a $2,000 donation from Ilhan Omar:

The Washington Free Beacon also reported that Rep. Omar gave money to fellow Reps. Lauren Underwood (D-IL) and Haley Stevens (D-MI), and that the records to date show that they both accepted and reported the donations.

Let’s see where this goes, and whether more representatives will stand up to Omar and her controversial rhetoric.
