Democrat representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has come under fire repeatedly since her election, most notoriously for not responding to questions about her stance on Sharia law. Spoiler alert: she is a devout Muslim. As best we can tell, she believes in Sharia law, and wants to live under its reign here in America, because Sharia is the law of Islam.
So is the stoning of gays and other homosexuals; anyone who isn’t straight.
Both Omar and her freshman representative counterpart, Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), refused to condemn the recent law passed in the Sultanate of Brunei, with which they implemented the Sharia Penal code, which carries inhumane punishment for gays, including death by direct stoning for homosexual activity.
This is simply despicable, and goes against every principle we stand for as Americans. And you thought Democrats were the party of tolerance? Think again.

New Islamic criminal laws that took effect in Brunei on Wednesday, punishing gay sex and adultery by stoning offenders to death, have triggered an outcry from countries, rights groups and celebrities far beyond the tiny Southeast Asian nation’s shores.
The penalties were provided for under new sections of Brunei’s Shariah Penal Code. Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah instituted the code in 2014 to bolster the influence of Islam in the oil-rich monarchy of around 430,000 people, two-thirds of whom are Muslim.
Even before 2014, homosexuality was already punishable in Brunei by a jail term of up to 10 years. The first stage of the Shariah Penal Code included fines or jail for offenses such as pregnancy out of wedlock or failing to pray on Fridays.
But under the new laws — which apply to children and foreigners, even if they are not Muslim — those found guilty of gay sex could be stoned to death or whipped. Adulterers risk death by stoning too, while thieves face amputation of a right hand on their first offense and a left foot on their second.
“Living in Brunei, we already knew that our sexual identity is taboo and should not be expressed. We already felt belittled before the law came to place,” said a 23-year-old member of the LGBTQ community who wanted to be identified only as Kun out of fear of reprisal from the authorities.
“Now with it, we feel even smaller and the ones who could potentially oppress us have more opportunity to harass us to say and do what they want,” he said.
Big League Politics also reported on the atrocity, and the rookie Democrats’ refusal to condemn the new law:
Two members of the House of Representatives, both Muslims, have refused to condemn the country of Brunei for implementation of the Sharia Penal code, which carries inhumane punishment for homosexuals.
Big League Politics reached out to the office of Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), asking if the Congresswoman would condemn the Asian nation, which plans to implement capital punishment for citizens who are found guilty of homosexuality. Her office did not respond to a comment request.
Tlaib, who called to “impeach the motherf*****” in reference to President Donald J. Trump, wrapped herself in the Palestinian flag upon winning her seat in Congress, and has been known to traffic in anti-Semitism on social media.
Likewise, BLP reached out to Jeremy Slevin, spokesperson for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.). He did not respond to our request, either. Omar came to the United States as a Somali refugee during her childhood.
Omar’s anti-Semitism caused a national outcry, for which Democrats decided to draft a resolution against all bigotry – except against white males. The party was eventually forced to condemn Omar by name.
Not only will Brunei legalize capital punishment for homosexuals, but it plans to make death by stoning the punishment. This not-so-progressive endeavor has been ignored by the new “progressives” in Congress.
What kind of human would have a problem with being opposed to STONING other human beings, for any reason?
This is the “new, modern, forward-thinking, progressive” Democrat party, and this is who they elect to represent them.
