Trump Administration Grants $5.1 MILLION to Pro-Life Clinics!

Save the babies!

God bless this Administration!

I mean that literally.

What a wonderful thing President Trump is doing.

Earlier he pulled money from Planned Parenthood and now he’s allocating funds to pro-life groups like Obria Group, a pro-life, comprehensive health care provider.

There are conflicting reports about whether the grant was $1.7 million or $5.1 million, but either way it’s a million-dollar grant.

Take a look:

Here's more on the grants, from The Federalist:

Obria, a pro-life, comprehensive health care provider, will receive $5.1 million over the next three years from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, thanks to a new Title X family planning grant.

The nonprofit provides health care services for women, men, and their families in low-income neighborhoods, and does not perform abortions or provide contraceptives. In early March, HHS revised the Title X provision, a federal family planning program, to prohibit any funds from going to “perform, promote, refer for, or support abortion as a method of family planning.”

Services offered at Obria’s 21 clinics and pregnancy centers include ultrasounds, pap smears, STD testing and treatment, and HIV/AIDS testing, breast and cervical cancer screenings, full prenatal care, training in natural family planning, and services for adolescents. The group said the grant will go towards expanding care for 36,000 low-income and impoverished residents across four California counties.

“Many women want the opportunity to visit a professional, comprehensive health care facility – not an abortion clinic – for their health care needs. Today HHS gave women that choice,” said Obria CEO Kathleen Eaton Bravo.

Planned Parenthood is the largest recipient of federal Title X funds, raking in about $80 million per year. After HHS announced the Title X rule changes, it was expected that funds would be stripped from Planned Parenthood and awarded to health clinics that do not perform abortions. Abortions are Planned Parenthood’s highest revenue-generating service, usually costing women around $500 or more. Additionally, Planned Parenthood does not provide comprehensive health services like breast cancer screening or prenatal care.

“The Title X program was not intended to be a slush fund for abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood, which violently ends the lives of more than 332,000 unborn babies a year and receives almost $60 million a year in Title X taxpayer dollars,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser in a statement earlier this month.

Breitbart had more details:

The Donald Trump administration announced Friday it will award a $5.1 million grant to the Obria Group – a nonprofit network of health centers that provides life-affirming comprehensive healthcare.

According to a press release, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is awardingthe grant over the course of three years through the Title X Family Planning program. Obria plans to expand its services to low-income individuals and families in four California counties.

“With this grant, the administration has opened up a new avenue of health care choices for low income and underserved women and their families in California,” Obria Group Founder and CEO Kathleen Eaton Bravo said in a statement. “Many women want the opportunity to visit a professional, comprehensive health care facility – not an abortion clinic – for their health care needs; today HHS gave women that choice.”

The grant announcement underscores the Trump administration’s determinationto make a clear distinction between abortion and family planning.

In February, HHS released a new rule that could block about $60 million in family planning funding to Planned Parenthood, whose “core mission,” according to its president, Dr. Leana Wen, is abortion.

The new regulation prohibits the use of Title X family planning funds to “perform, promote, refer for, or support abortion as a method of family planning.”

And from LifeNews:

The founder of an organization of community care clinics that cater to women praises the Trump administration for deciding to give her group $5.1 million over three years for use in California, a grant that once might have gone to Planned Parenthood.

“With this grant, the administration has opened up a new avenue of health care choices for low-income and underserved women and their families in California,” Kathleen Eaton Bravo, CEO and founder of The Obria Group Inc. and Obria Medical Clinics, said in a prepared statement provided to The Daily Signal.

Obria, which operates 21 health clinics and 11 mobile clinics in five states, does not perform abortions.

“Many women want the opportunity to visit a professional, comprehensive health care facility—not an abortion clinic—for their health care needs; today, HHS gave women that choice,” Bravo said.

The Department of Health and Human Services announced Friday that Obria Group will receive three years of Title X family planning funding to expand services to low-income individuals and families in four California counties.

Obria Group will oversee the work of seven clinic partners, including three of its own California affiliates, according to a release from CRC Public Relations.

“Our goal is to basically say we’re going to build a model of comprehensive, holistic medical clinics so that a woman [facing an unplanned pregnancy] never has to darken the door of a Planned Parenthood again,” Bravo told The Daily Signal in an interview Tuesday.

“We are her health care provider,” she said. “It is a brand that has been desperately needed for 45 years, to unite the [pro-life] movement under this medical model.”

Obria Medical Clinics, which is fully licensed, provides professional medical consultations, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, pre-abortion screenings, abortion education, abortion pill reversal, prenatal care, health education, and referrals, according to Obria’s Facebook page.

With the HHS grant, Bravo said, she hopes to expand Obria’s reach through “branding, getting our name out there so we can bring more clinics,” and expanding medical services.

And, she said, “really just uniting the pro-life movement, coming together and start working together instead of being fractured.”
