Trey Gowdy Just Knocked That “Convicted Perjurer” Off His High Horse!

Knocked him off his high horse!

It was great hearing from Trey Gowdy….and hearing him punch back at Michael Cohen!

Gowdy appeared on Martha MacCallum’s Fox show to break down the Cohen testimony, and he did not hold back!

Calling it “stunning to see” and referring to Cohen as the “convicted perjurer”, Gowdy ripped him up and down and make several compelling points.

For example, so what if there was a meeting with Roger Stone about what WikiLeaks said it was doing?

Newsflash:  that’s not a crime.

And if it were, you’d better believe Robert Mueller would have pounced on it sometime in the last two years!

Mueller knows the law well enough to know he can’t even twist that into a case!

It’s a big “nothing burger” as Van Jones once famously said.

The interview is only about 5 minutes long, but well worth it.

Here you go, enjoy:

Here's more on the story, from Fox News:

Former GOP Rep. Trey Gowdy reacted to the Michael Cohen hearing Wednesday, saying that it was "stunning to watch" Democrats call a "convicted perjurer" as their star witness.

Gowdy, now a partner at the upstate South Carolina firm Nelson Mullins, said Cohen was consistent on one noticeable thing.

He said Cohen -- prior to and during his testimony -- stated that he has no evidence to show collusion between President Trump and the Russians.

Gowdy also reacted to another statement Cohen made, regarding a claim he overheard a phone conversation between Trump and the president's longtime friend, Roger Stone.

"Assume Michael Cohen is telling the truth," Gowdy said. "What crime is listening to Roger Stone saying that WikiLeaks is going to do what they tweeted they were going to do and dump a bunch of documents?"

He also noted that when it comes to Cohen's credibility, the now-disbarred New York attorney was subject to a rare public correction in January by the office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

As Fox News reported at the time:

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office issued an extraordinary statement disputing a bombshell news report that claimed President Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie about the timing of discussions over a proposed Trump Tower project in Moscow.

“BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller’s office, said.

The statement is remarkable in that Mueller's team rarely issues statements in response to news stories. But BuzzFeed's story sparked immense interest from Democrats, who called for renewed investigations and even suggested the allegations could be a basis for impeachment proceedings.
