Sometimes I wonder if the Republican party is learning from Trump.
I would sure hope so.
It looks like maybe Mitch McConnnell is, because he just landed a checkmate move against Ocasio-Cortez and the other Dems who were backing the infamous Green New Deal.
After the Dems rolled out their program with great pride, it was widely ridiculed by most, especially online. Â
Even President Trump mocked them at his El Paso MAGA Rally for trying to protect “farting cows” and for wanting to eliminate air travel.
To quote Trump: Â “I don’t think the Hawaiian Senator has quite figured out that you can’t take a train to Hawaii, but she’ll figure it out after a while.”
Hilarious. Â Classic Trump.
Seizing on the wide-spread ridicule of the Green New Deal, McConnell just boxed the Dems into a corner by calling for a vote on the Senate Floor.Â
His position?
If you like it so much, put your name behind it!
The brilliant move have given Dems a choice between two bad options: Â (1) attach their name to the bad legislation and tarnish their image, or (2) abandon their fellow Dems in a proverbial throwing under the bus.
