The stage is set for a MASSIVE Trump rally in El Paso, TX as President Trump travels to the border state to make his case for the Border Wall.
Here are the details and then we have a TON of pictures and live video for you below.
From Fox News:
President Donald Trump is heading to El Paso, Texas, Monday night, where he will hold a rally and be interviewed by Fox News’ Laura Ingraham.
Tune in to Fox News Channel at 9:00pm ET to hear Trump’s speech, followed by the exclusive interview on “The Ingraham Angle” at 10:00pm ET.
The sit-down will focus on Trump’s pursuit of funding for a border wall ahead of the Feb. 15 budget deadline.
After a 35-day partial government shutdown that ended Jan. 25, the federal government could close again if congressional Republicans and Democrats cannot hammer out a compromise. Sources told Fox News on Sunday that negotiations had broken down.
Trump has also considered declaring a national emergency to allow him to fund the border wall, though Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell reportedly cautioned him against such a move.
In an interview Monday on Fox News, the commissioner of Texas’ Department of Agriculture touted the effectiveness of fencing in El Paso, saying that crime dropped significantly in the city.
“It’s a stated fact that the wall has stopped crime, and it has lowered in El Paso,” Sid Miller said, adding that an extended border wall is “the most humanitarian” solution to border security.
El Paso native Beto O’Rourke, a former Democratic congressman now mulling a presidential run, says barriers are inevitable but that Trump’s calls for an expanded wall are the “cynical rhetoric of war, of invasions, of fear.”
O’Rourke is set to lead a march in opposition to Trump’s rally Monday night, with thousands expected to attend.
