Don Lemon Tried To Shame Gladys Knight For Singing The National Anthem and She Responded With Pure Class!

Honestly, I didn’t know a whole lot about Gladys Knight before this weekend.  

Of course, I knew who she was.  

Someting to do with The Pips, right?

But anyway, I didn’t know a lot about her as a person.

And the more I’ve learned the more blown away I am by her!  

What a wise lady, and strong to boot!  

She went on CNN before the Super Bowl and was interviewed by Don Lemon, who appeared to want to turn it into a “gotcha” interview.  

But Gladys was having NONE of his act!  

She answered every question with pure class and intelligence (two things Lemon lacks!)

My personal favorite was how she talked about how society has gone downhill, an answer Lemon probably wasn’t expecting:

“We used to sing the national anthem in school before it started.  We used to say prayers before school started.  And we just don’t have that anymore.”

What a brilliant answer….and she’s right!

Lemon tried to bait her again after that asking if she was afraid she’d lose her career for singing the National Anthem.

What a stupid and foolish question!

She gave the perfect answer:

“It’s about respect.  If we start denying the anthem — there are so many people who died for this country — we have fought hard for a long time.”
