NEW TWIST: VA Governor Now Tells the AP He Wasn’t In The Racist Photo

Now today comes the backtracking.  Or spin.  Or damage control.  Or lies?  However you want to characterize it.

Because we've got a totally different story today.

According to a report from the AP, Northam now says it wasn't him.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam is planning a news conference where he’s expected to say he’s not resigning and believes he was not in a racist picture featured in his 1984 medical yearbook.

Northam’s office on Saturday said the 2:30 p.m. news conference would take place at the Executive Mansion.

Northam is calling Democrats ahead of the news conference to try and shore up support. A wide swath of Democrats and Republicans have called on Northam to resign after he apologized Friday for appearing in a photo in which one person is dressed in blackface and another is wearing a full Ku Klux Klan uniform.

But Northam said he now believes he was not in the picture and can prove that it wasn’t him, said state Sen. Louise Lucas.

Ok, so here's my question.

How many of you have ever dressed up in a KKK hat and/or blackface?

Hands up please.....

None?

Ok.  

So here's my point.  You KNOW if you've ever dressed up in that kind of racist costume.  

And if you truly can't remember, then you either have the most horrible memory of anyone in the world....or.....you've done it on so many occassions that you know you've done it, you just deny it was you in that PARTICULAR picture.

Aren't those really the only two options?

I don't buy for a second that he thought it was him and then realized it wasn't a day later.

Is anyone out there buying that?
