House Republicans sent James Comey a Thanksgiving surprise: a subpoena!
If you thought the Republicans were just going to give up after the Midterm elections, think again.
They’re amping things up!
Here’s what Comey posted to Twitter:
Our friends over at MAGAvoter explained more:
On Thursday, as millions of Americans across the country spent time with friends and family for Thanksgiving, former FBI Director James Comey took to Twitter, where he announced that he had been subpoenaed once again by House Republicans.
Starting his tweet with a sardonic “Happy Thanksgiving,” Comey went on to flatly state “Got a subpoena from House Republicans. I’m still happy to sit in the light and answer all questions,” but vowed to “resist” any hearing not made public.
“I will resist a ‘closed door’ thing because I’ve seen enough of their selective leaking and distortion,” the former FBI Director said of House Republicans, adding, “Let’s have a hearing and invite everyone to see.”
Republicans have increasingly signaled their intent to further question Comey regarding leaks and other issues – a task they hope to accomplish before Democrats take control of the House Judiciary Committee in January.
