Pureblood Novak Djokovic Denied Entry Into U.S.

World No. 1 men’s tennis player Novak Djokovic withdrew from the 2023 BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, indicating his COVID-19 jab waiver request was denied.

The United States still enforces the idiotic, anti-science policy of banning unvaccinated foreign travelers entering the country by air.

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) said the Department of Homeland Security denied Djokovic’s COVID-19 jab waiver request, making him ineligible to compete in the Miami Open.

“Joe Biden must fix this NOW, grant the waiver & allow him to compete here in the states,” Scott said.

ESPN reported:

Novak Djokovic has formally withdrawn from the draw for the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, tournament officials said Sunday, an indication that the world No. 1’s application for a COVID-19 vaccine waiver to enter the U.S. might have failed.

Djokovic, who is from Serbia and unvaccinated against COVID-19, applied to the U.S. government last month for special permission to play at the ATP Masters events at Indian Wells and Miami.

“World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the 2023 BNP Paribas Open. With his withdrawal, Nikoloz Basilashvili moves into the field,” tournament organizers said in a statement.

Play in the combined ATP-WTA event begins Wednesday at Indian Wells Tennis Garden and runs through March 19. The draw is Monday.

Despite denying entry to unvaccinated travelers who attempt to enter the country legally, the Biden administration allows unvaccinated illegal aliens to cross the U.S. Southern border.

Outkick explained:

Most countries around the world have recognized that the pandemic is over and started to treat unvaccinated individuals like actual human beings, but the United States refuses to do so.

In early January, five days before the vaccine requirement was due to expire, an emergency amendment was issued that extends the entry requirement of proof of vaccination for non-U.S. nationals until April 10, 2023.

Meanwhile, over 2.76 million undocumented immigrants illegally entered the country at the southern border in 2022. This means that roughly 7,500 illegal immigrants entered the United States every day last year, and the U.S. government does not care about their vaccination status.

Not even Australia, one of the world’s strictest COVID regimes, enforces this reprehensible policy anymore.

Djokovic entered Australia in January and won the Australian Open.

Yet, the world's best tennis player won't get the chance to compete in the United States.

"This country is stuck on stupid, it just is," Bill Maher said referencing the policy to ban Novak Djokovic based on his vaccination status.
