Shortly after receiving backlash for saying women are in their prime during their 20s, 30s, and 40s, women inside of CNN are now furious with Lemon.
A day after making the statement Lemon issued an apology during an editorial call but many women inside are calling his apology pathetic.
The new tension Lemon has created may just be enough for Lemon to be shown the door.
If you haven’t seen Lemon’s comments watch him make them here:
Don Lemon says Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime as a politician because she’s not in her 20’s, 30’s or 40’s. Holy shit. She’s only 51! Biden’s 80! This may be the dumbest thing ever said on CNN. And I love that he cited Google as his source: pic.twitter.com/l1CzTYlkjX

Fox News had more details to add:
Don Lemon’s Friday morning apology to CNN colleagues was blasted as “pathetic” by a well-placed CNN insider who called the morning show host a “f——g a–hole.”
Lemon attempted the mea culpa during the network’s morning editorial call following comments he made Thursday that were widely condemned as sexist. He insisted he “did not mean to offend anyone” when he claimed Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was past her “prime” as a woman.
“Most pathetic attempt at an apology I have ever heard in my life,” a CNN insider told Fox News Digital. “It did not go over well.”
The insider added that Lemon is a “f——g a–hole” for claiming that he must not be sexist simply because he has women in his life and compared it to a White person trying to downplay racists comments by insisting they have Black friends.
Women inside have since reached out to women’s groups, hoping they will take a stand against Lemon and his history of misogynistic comments.
Liberals can't stand the idea of having competency tests for older politicians to make sure they can do the job.
BTW it's always the liberals who are the most sexist. pic.twitter.com/PzpniQFLff

The Daily Beast got the scoop too:
Don Lemon has apologized on CNN’s morning editorial call after making offensive remarks relating to gender.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I did not mean to offend anyone,” Lemon said on the call. “What I said came out wrong and I wish I hadn’t said it. I believe women of any age can do anything they set their minds to. The people I am closest to in this organization are women.”
CNN CEO Chris Licht, who was in the control room of CNN This Morning and on set Friday, addressed the controversy at the top of the daily call, saying the remarks were “upsetting, unacceptable, and unfair to his co-hosts, and ultimately a huge distraction to the great work of this organization.”
Lemon bizarrely suggested on the show Thursday morning that GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley wasn’t in her “prime” and, therefore, should be careful when using that word to judge other politicians.
