It’s one incident after another with these toxic chemicals being transported across the United States.
Breaking reports from Tucson, Arizona, indicate a truck carrying hazardous materials overturned on I-10.
Authorities reportedly issued a hazmat alert, and a ‘shelter in place’ warning is in effect for anyone within a one-mile radius of the site.

ABC 15 Arizona reported:
A crash in south Tucson has prompted a shelter-in-place request for those nearby after a nitric acid spill, according to the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality.
The shelter-in-place warning is in effect for all individuals within a mile radius of the crash, which is near Kolb Road along I-10.
Tucson Fire, Pima County Office of Emergency Management, Arizona DPS and the Department of Public Safety’s Hazardous Materials Response Unit are working on the response.
Everyone in the area is also advised to turn off heaters, air conditioning units and other equipment that may bring outside air in.
That includes individuals:
- East of the crash to Houghton Road
- West of the crash to Kolb Road
- North of the crash to Valencia Road
- South of the crash to Voyager Road
Authorities say a truck has flipped onto its side in the median. There is no information yet on the truck driver’s condition.

Both directions of I-10 are closed near Kolb Road due to the crash, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
I-10 is closed in both directions near milepost 272 (Kolb Road) near Tucson, due to a crash. The Kolb Road on-ramp from eastbound I-10 is also closed.
All eastbound traffic must exit at or before Kolb Road; westbound traffic must exit at or before Houghton Road.There is no estimated time to reopen the freeway.
