UFC fighter Damon Jackson discussed the death of his brother in a recent interview.
Jackson said his 37-year-old brother died suddenly last year shortly before one of his fights.
In the interview with sherdog.com’s Tudor Leonte, Jackson said his brother was vaccinated a couple of weeks prior to his death.
The 34-year-old mixed martial artist changed his nickname from “The Leech” to “Action” in tribute to his older brother.

At UFC Fight Night 210 on September 17, 2022, Jackson defeated Pat Sabatini via technical knockout in round one and won the Performance of the Night Award.
“Right before my last fight my brother passed away and that was his football nickname,” Jackson said.
After Jackson explained the reason for the nickname change, Leonte asked what caused his brother’s death.
“We still really don’t know. He wasn’t answering calls and texts, so we went over to check on him and we found him in his house,” Jackson explained.
“It doesn’t make a lot of sense yet. We did try to figure out if it could have been the vaccine. It could have been medication. It could have been a handful of things.”
“There’s no present apparent reason what happened. It was just out of nowhere,” he added.
“He was 37 years old, so just doesn’t make a lot of sense. He was vaccinated just shortly before that, about two weeks before. I don’t want to get into conspiracies and all that kind of stuff but nothing adds up,” Jackson noted.
“So we’re trying to figure out some answers, but we don’t have any answers so far.”
