On his podcast, Jordan Peterson called for regime change in Iran.
Journalist Michael Tracey shared this clip and called out Peterson for his position.
“Jordan Peterson calls on ‘The West’ to ‘get their act together’ and overthrow the Iranian government in the name of opposing ‘misogyny.’ Apparently Jordan Peterson is one of those guys who should just stay embroiled in pronoun controversies 24/7,” Tracey tweeted in response to the clip.

“If any of you have been particularly taken by this story today, you can always put pen to paper and write your congressman or your senator and let them know you’re not all that happy about the situation in Iran,” Peterson states.
“If the politicians got their act together and were stalwart in their opposition to this fundamentalist, totalitarian, misogynistic, brutal regime, that maybe it could be pushed over and that would be a nice object lesson to totalitarian tyrants everywhere in the world.”

Twitter users commented on Peterson’s remarks:
And with potential crossover ramifications for a hot war already raging in another theater that happens to involve the country with the world's largest nuclear arsenal

Regime change again? I now see that Russia had a good point against NATO.

Maybe Jordan can conquer misogyny in Iran & export our culture of kid sex change surgeries to them.
He makes some good points on other topics — but has the energy of a soulless vessel that now just consumed Ben Shapiro’s foreign policy.

Conservative Republicans do NOT want foreign wars. We do not want to perpetuate our history of interventionism. No one wants to go back into the Middle East. I feel terribly for people being mistreated, but this is no longer a battle for the US. I am sad to hear this from JP. https://t.co/iJoDBfd1hu

Many conservative voters keep making clear they overwhelmingly reject Bush/Cheney/neocon foreign policy orthodoxies, regime change wars, and trying to "fix" other countries, yet somehow keep ending up with "thought leaders" who sound like Dick Cheney and Bill Kristol in 2005. https://t.co/g3ok8GyeP1

I think 21 years embroiled in war in the Middle East under the guise of “spreading freedom and democracy” is enough. Especially given all the CIA fuckery and Blackrock shenanigans, etc. 😒 https://t.co/3cwcJXIS7U

This was always the play. The pied piper strategy. It won’t work. Jordan underestimates his audience. But good for people to stop being naive. There’s a reason JP is propped up, and you wouldn’t like those reasons. https://t.co/fHOfAy2W2s

He’s not even American but he’s trying to rile up Americans into a foreign war and regime change. https://t.co/DbFW4MZv06

Peterson responded to Michael Tracey’s tweet.
“I read this a couple of times and failed to understand your point @mtracey. Is this a pro-Iranian theocracy comment? Or is it somehow about what I hypothetically think about women? Care to clarify?” Peterson asked.

“Sure, happy to clarify: you’re calling for US intervention to topple a foreign government, also known as ‘regime change,’ which is probably the most reliably insane thing the US government ever does. And you frame it as some sort of great moral crusade to impose Gender Equity,” Tracey replied.
