Mike Lindell Leading “Romney” and Dhillon In Race For RNC Chair!

My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell just may be the spoiler in the January 27 race for Chairman of the RNC that no one anticipated.

Not only has he met the requirements to have his name placed in nomination, but a new Rasmussen poll of likely voters  actually shows him leading incumbent Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and Attorney Harmeet Dhillon.

Lindell got 30% of the votes, versus 20% for Dhillon and just 15% for McDaniel.

You have to wonder how Ronna’s uncle and never-Trumper Mitt Romney must be taking THAT news!

Voters still remember Romney with a bitter taste in their mouths.

Especially pro-Trump voters.

Of course, this poll was of U.S. likely voters.

Tomorrow’s secret ballet vote will be among the 168 members of the Republican National Committee.

Donald Trump, the head of the party, has not come out publicly with an endorsement, though he is the one who tapped McDaniel for the position shortly after his win in 2016.

For many, though, doubts about McDaniel have grown over the years.

The Washington Examiner suggested today that McDaniel’s recent salary history and failure to achieve the much vaunted Red Wave during the recent mid-terms haven’t earned her many warm feelies:

The highest yearly salary she (McDaniels)  received from the RNC was $410,640, which she got paid in 2020. McDaniel’s recent salaries easily outstrip the $257,782 former Chairman Reince Priebus made in 2016. The pay increases for McDaniel came as the GOP lost the majority in the House after the 2018 midterm elections and lost the Senate and White House after the 2020 elections.

Are Republican finally holding people accountable?

Is McDaniel able to fend off her competitors? Will Dhillon pull an end run?

Or will the pillow guy pull off a miracle?

The poll is irrelevant as grassroot Republicans don't get to vote, only 168 RNC members do, and most of them have already been paid off by Ronna McDaniel. Harmeet Dhillon may put up a good fight, but the fix is already in place. Mike Lindell will be a poor 3rd place.

Stay tuned for the outcome. If an upset is in the making, it could dramatically change the Republican Party.

RNC members will convene on Friday for the secret-ballot election. A candidate needs a simple majority, or 85 of 168 votes, to win.
