The son of Democrat House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) was apparently arrested for vandalizing personal property and assaulting an officer.

The arrest reportedly occurred while resisting arrest during an Antifa riot in Boston, Massachusetts, according to The Post Millennial.

The Post Millennial stated:

According to the Boston Police Department, at about 9:30 pm officers responded to a protest at the Parkman Bandstand Monument located in the Boston Common. “Upon arrival officers observed an individual defacing the monument with spray paint. The tagging read ‘NO COP CITY’ and ‘ACAB,'” authorities stated. The phrases are commonly utilized by anti-police Antifa activists, including the ones rioting in the Atlanta “autonomous zone.”

The Boston Police Department identified the suspect as Jared Dowell, 23, of Melrose.

Twitter user AntifaWatch reported that Dowell is likely the son of the prominent congressional Democrat.

It appears that the child of Democrat House Minority Whip Katherine M. Clark was arrested for assaulting police as part of an #antifa event in Boston last night,” AntifaWatch tweeted on Sunday.

AntifaWatch also noted that Dowell’s Facebook account was deleted shortly after reports of the arrest.

“Jared’s Facebook was just deleted. Not quick enough eh. Not that much was on it besides confirmation of name, location, as well as trans name (Riley). There were some leftist Mutual aid posts. Jared was Facebook friends with his Minority Whip Mom on the account,” AntifaWatch stated.

AntifaWatch also noted that it appears Dowell has gone “trans/nonbinary somewhat recently” and identifies as ‘Riley.’

Rep. Clark issued a statement about the arrest, saying that her daughter ‘Riley’ was arrested in Boston.

“Last night, my daughter was arrested in Boston, Massachusetts. I love Riley, and this is a very difficult time in the cycle of joy and pain in parenting. This will be evaluated by the legal system, and I am confident in that process,” Clark tweeted.

“Dowell is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court,” The Post Millennial reports.

The Post Millennial provided additional details about the arrest:

According to an online biography for Rep. Clark, a “Jared Dowell” was listed as her child.

During Dowell’s arrest, a group of “about 20 protesters” surrounded the officers while “screaming profanities through megaphones,” said the department. This was taking place on a public street, causing traffic to come to a “standstill,” according to the statement.

“While interfering with the arrest of Jared Dowell, an officer was hit in the face and could be seen bleeding from the nose and mouth.”

BPD added that after Dowell was successfully placed under arrest, he was charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and destruction or injury of personal property and damage of property by graffiti/tagging.
