Department of Justice Attempting to Reinstate Travel Mask Mandate

The U.S. federal government is attempting to reignite COVID theater and reinstitute useless mask mandates for Americans traveling from point A to point B.

The Justice Department on Tuesday asked an appeals court panel to reverse the April 2021 ruling that lifted the travel mask mandate, Reuters reports.

The ruling declared the mask mandate, which applied to airplanes, buses, trains, ridesharing services, and other transportation hubs, unlawful.

Even though masks do nothing to prevent COVID-19, the DOJ wants Americans to return to muzzles.

From Reuters:

A three-judge panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments on the government’s appeal of a ruling by a U.S. district court judge in Florida that found the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lacked legal authority to issue a nationwide travel mask mandate to combat COVID-19.

The CDC issued the sweeping mask mandate in January 2021, days after Joe Biden became president.

A report from U.S. lawmakers in October said the Trump administration in 2020 blocked the CDC from adopting a federal transportation mask mandate.

“The Department continues to believe that the order requiring masking in the transportation corridor is a valid exercise of the authority Congress has given CDC to protect the public health. That is an important authority the Department will continue to work to preserve,” DOJ said in a statement at the time of the ruling.

As Fox News noted, Biden’s DOJ continues this idiotic, power-hungry fight to reinstate mask mandates despite the White House resident declaring the ‘Pandemic’ over.

Fox News added:

The fight to keep mask mandates is not a popular one among travel industry groups. The U.S. Travel Association, for example, praised the ruling from the Florida judge striking down the mandate.

“The current decision to halt enforcement of the federal mask mandate effectively returns the choice of mask usage on planes and other forms of public transportation to travelers and travel industry workers, a further step toward endemic management of COVID,” Tori Emerson Barnes, the associations executive vice president, said at the time.

The Health Freedom Defense Fund (HDFD), a medical rights advocacy group that initially sued the Biden administration in July 2021, will make the argument in court Tuesday that the order requiring all travelers to wear masks “lacks not only any rooting in federal statutes, but it also violated existing federal law in how it was promulgated. The mandate also suffers from an inconsistent application of sound science.”
