A Republican lawmaker has proposed a bill that would place a bust of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the U.S. Capitol.
Yes, a Republican introduced this legislation.
Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) introduced a resolution Monday to direct the Fine Arts Board to fund a bust of Zelensky to be displayed “in the House of Representatives wing of the United States Capitol.”
So Republicans take back the House, and instead of fighting for the thousands of homeless veterans, instead of fighting for Americans who can’t feed their kids, Republicans are creating bills to put statues of Zelensky in the US Capitol.🙄
How can you not laugh at the @HouseGOP?

H.Res.10 reads:
Directing the Fine Arts Board to obtain a bust of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for display in the House of Representatives wing of the United States Capitol.
Resolved, That the House of Representatives directs the Fine Arts Board to obtain a bust of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for display in a suitable, permanent location in the House of Representatives wing of the United States Capitol.
Breitbart reported:
Wilson is a vehement supporter of Ukraine’s battle with Russia. Wilson helped lead a congressional delegation to Ukraine in December. Wilson, along with Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN), sponsored a resolution to boot Russia off of the United Nations’ Security Council.
Zelensky recently delivered a “special message of peace” during the Golden Globes show on Tuesday.
Although there is a growing movement to oppose unending aid to Ukraine and entanglement in that conflict, many Republicans and Democrats continue to show unwavering support for Ukraine.
While Congress has authorized more than $110 billion in American taxpayer money to be sent to Ukraine, much of the funding is ending up in the hands of highly powerful and well-connected Defense Department contractors like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman — all of which are donors to Wilson.
Other House Republicans expressed their disapproval of the proposed resolution.
“There is now a House resolution that seeks to put a display of Zelenskyy’s head in the US Capitol. Was the $100+ billion to Ukraine not enough?” Rep. Andy Biggs commented.

“I wanted to believe this legislation was satire from @TheBabylonBee, but it’s not,” Rep. Thomas Massie said.

One America News host Addison Smith blasted Rep. Joe Wilson for celebrating Ukraine’s Independence Day on Twitter and remaining silent on America’s Independence Day.
“In 2022, Rep. Joe Wilson took to Twitter to celebrate Ukraine’s Independence Day, but did not do the same for America’s Independence Day. Now he wants to put a Zelensky bust in the U.S. Capitol. It’s pretty obvious who these people work for (hint: it’s not you),” Smith tweeted.
