WATCH: ESPN Host Ignores the Haters, Prays for Damar Hamlin on Live TV

It’s no secret that Christians are shunned by the entertainment industry.

We’ve been mocked for our “thoughts and prayers.”

The haters continue to multiply by the day.

But that didn’t stop ESPN commentator Dan Orlovsky from praying on live television.

He prayed for Damar Hamlin’s recovery as well as for his family.

Orlovsky’s prayer is now going viral on social media.

Not only was his prayer touching, but it inspired many to be unashamed of their Christian faith, even in a world where being Christian is made fun of.

Watch the prayer that was aired live on ESPN below:

Many people say “thoughts and prayers,” but how many of those people actually pray?

Orlovsky didn’t want to just offer words.

He wanted to offer action.

And that’s exactly why he prayed on live TV.

Fox News is reporting that social media is praising Orlovsky’s prayer:

Several sports fans and commentators commended Orlovsky’s live prayer for Hamlin on Twitter as “powerful.”

“Dan Orlovsky didn’t just send off a ‘praying for Damar Hamlin’ tweet. He paused during NFL Live, bowed his head, and prayed. Powerful, brave, and genuine,” Outkick sportswriter Mark Harris wrote.

“This is as powerful as it gets. Praying on national TV probably wasn’t an easy thing to do… but @danorlovsky7 did exactly that. Let’s all follow his example and keep praying for Hamlin,” ClutchPoints writer Joey Mistretta agreed.

“Faith on the Field” host Rob Maaddi wrote, “Proud of you, bro. ‘For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them.’”

Entrepreneur Joe Pompliano tweeted, “Shoutout to Dan Orlovsky for not just saying thoughts & prayers but actually stopping NFL Live to bow his head, close his eyes, and pray for Damar Hamlin. Kudos to you, @danorlovsky7.”

“power of prayer,” “The Rally” host Brooke Fletcher commented.

“I have never seen anything like this before. Dan Orlovsky just prayed for Damar Hamlin live on @espn moments ago. See below. ‘So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.’ -Psalm 90:12 @danorlovsky7,” professor Denny Burk remarked.

Football players across the league have echoed calls for prayers after Hamlin’s collapse during the Buffalo Bills game. Hamlin’s teammates gathered on the field shortly after he collapsed for a group prayer.

How inspiring is that?!

In a world where Christians are told to shut up and hide their faith, Orlovsky went on national TV and practiced his faith.

He didn’t preach at anyone.

He didn’t condemn anyone.

He just showed the world what being a Christian is about!

In a time where political divisions are running deep, prayer and trust in God is what can unite us!

This is why Orlovsky’s prayer is going viral.

Breitbart offers more insight:

ESPN host and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky defied woke critics and performed a live prayer for the recovery of Buffalo’s Damar Hamlin live on the air on Tuesday.

Orlovsky cited the seemingly over-used phrase “thoughts and prayers” seen on social media but took that sentiment one step further during Tuesday’s broadcast of NFL Live.

“You know, like, this is a little bit different. I’ve heard it all day, like ‘thoughts and prayers,’” he said at the outset of the segment, also noting that the Buffalo Bills had said that they believe in the power of prayer.

Then he did what few would dare do in this day of hyper-anti-Christian sentiment on TV.

Orlovsky bowed his head and prayed aloud.

“God, we come to you in these moments that we don’t understand, that are hard, uh, because we believe that You’re God and coming to You and praying to You, um, has impact,” he said.

“We’re, we’re sad, we’re angry, um, and we want answers. But some things are unanswerable. We just want to pray, truly come to You, and pray for strength for Damar, for healing for Damar, for comfort for Damar, to be with his family to give them peace. If we didn’t believe that prayer didn’t work we wouldn’t ask this of You, God. I believe in prayer, we believe in prayer, and we lift up Damar Hamlin’s name in Your name, amen,” he concluded.

As the left gets more and more aggressive against religion, Orlovsky’s show of faith is inspiring!

May this be an inspiration to us all about the power of prayer!
