President Donald Trump is no stranger to controversy.
He speaks his mind, and sometimes people don’t like what he has to say.
President Trump is currently in hot water with some pro-life republicans who are upset with him over some recent comments.
On Monday, Trump addressed the losses that the GOP suffered during the 2022 midterm elections on his Truth Social platform.
Trending: President Trump Delivers STONE COLD Speech To The U.N., Heralding Nationalism and the U.S.A.!
“It wasn’t my fault that the Republicans didn’t live up to expectations in the midterms,” he said.
“It was the ‘abortion issue,’ poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of rape, incest or life of the mother, that lost large numbers of voters.”
Trump elaborated: “Also, the people that pushed so hard, for decades, against abortion, got their wish from the U.S. Supreme Court, and just plain disappeared, not to be seen again.”
There are many pro-lifers who are quite upset with President Trump’s comments, feeling that he threw them under the bus for 2022.
However, the situation may not be quite so black and white.
There is little doubt that republicans allowed democrats to manipulate the general public over the Roe v Wade reversal.
Democrats were able to convince enough people that the sky was falling
Let’s not forget this either:
That pro-life victory NEVER would have occurred without President Trump appointing pro-life Supreme Court Justices.
If you look closer, it may be that Trump is simply calling a spade a spade.
Democrats are terrible, but they’re really good at controlling the narrative, and that’s exactly what they did after the decision.
Republicans allowed it to happen too.
At the end of the day, Trump is Trump.
He’s going to say some things that upset certain people.
The proof is in the pudding though.

Fox News reported on Trump’s original comments:
Trump faced heavy criticism following midterm elections after Trump-endorsed candidates lost key close races across the country. Many commentators argued Trump had forced the party to put up bad candidates, but Trump now argues it was the fault of staunchly pro-life Republicans.
“It wasn’t my fault that the Republicans didn’t live up to expectations in the midterms,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “It was the ‘abortion issue,’ poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of rape, incest or life of the mother, that lost large numbers of voters.”
“Also, the people that pushed so hard, for decades, against abortion, got their wish from the U.S. Supreme Court, and just plain disappeared, not to be seen again,” he added.

Trump Blames Abortion, Pro-Life Voters for 2022 Election Underperformance: “Wasn’t My Fault” https://t.co/FEHu0ntt0K

Life News reported on the reaction to Trump’s comments:
Republicans were expecting a “red wave” election to give them control of the Senate and a strong U.S. House majority. Instead, Republicans ended up winning the narrowest House majority in U.S. history and Democrats added an extra senate seat.
The GOP underperformed because it lost independents, did not offer voters a clear agenda, failed to combat Democrats’ abortion messaging and lacked financial resources, according to a Heritage Action report after the midterm elections.
Many believe Trump’s words are merely an indication of his frustration, and nothing more.
As Jenna Ellis pointed out, Trump has been stalwart in his support of the pro-life movement:
Donald Trump is not a fraudulent pro-lifer.
He has been the most stalwart pro-life president since Roe v. Wade and it was because of his SCOTUS appointments that this unconstitutional decision was finally rightly overturned.
He simply hates losing, and calls it as he sees it.

Trump is right. As I’ve been saying, Republicans went too far, too fast. @LindseyGrahamSC federal abortion ban is to blame for a lot of Republican defeats. The pro-life movement needs to focus on abolishing abortion in red states and passing a federal late-term abortion ban. pic.twitter.com/0aGaJjHXiy

Donald Trump is the most pro-life President America has ever had so I look forward to immediately disregarding the criticism of fake activists who have accomplished nothing.

This is very interesting. I do agree with Trump that sadly the abortion issue did lose the Republican's votes.
Unfortunately, if pro-life measures cannot pass in deep red states like Kansas and Kentucky then the pro-life movement lacks popular support.
It sucks, but it is true. pic.twitter.com/NtJaFme0hj

Trump is absolutely correct that (allegedly) pro-life leadership f’ed up the aftermath and messaging post-Dobbs. But do go on with your DeSantis simping, emotional bleating. https://t.co/06Qfsj6BKQ
