The shocking incident occurred at the Gateway Transit Center MAX platform in Northeast Portland on Wednesday.

According to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, Brianna Lace Workman, 32, shoved the child off the platform and onto the train tracks without provocation.

The child landed face-first on the metal rail and rocks before being rescued, according to authorities.

Workman is now facing several charges for the incident.

The child reported having a severe headache and a small red mark on their forehead after the incident.

The attack was captured on TriMet video footage.

MAX riders in NE Portland couldn’t believe someone could do something like this.

“That was really cruel. You know, like people just don’t care anymore, they don’t have respect,” says Michael Reed, a MAX rider.

The video shows some bystanders jump out of their seats, while Workman sits back down.

“There’s no excuse for that. Like I don’t understand why someone would do something like that – they belong in jail,” says MAX rider Blaine Danley. “Out of one bad person there’s what? 15 or 20 good ones? I guess that’s one way to look at it.”

Workman was arraigned on Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Interfering with Public Transportation, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
