The Silver Lining In The Release Of President Trump’s Tax Returns

For years Democrats have fought tooth and nail to gain access to, and publicly reveal President Trump’s tax returns.

Since that time they have gotten their wish and the ‘release of the century’ that they made it out to be has fallen somewhat on a flat note…

What did the Trump tax returns reveal? Absolutely nothing—surprise, surprise.

They revealed some sustained tax losses for which the President claimed a tax refund for—this is nothing criminal or odd for any business owner.

Aside from once again proving absolutely nothing about the 45th President of the United States, the release of the tax returns has spectacularly backfired on Democrats.

Instead of some seismic revelation that would captivate the minds of the public, people are instead saying:

Washington Examiner notes:

Although the Internal Revenue Service is required to conduct annual audits of sitting presidents’ tax returns, the agency failed to do so during Trump’s first two years in office, according to the committee’s report.

Throughout the course of Trump’s term, the IRS only began one audit, which wasn’t completed before he left the White House in 2021, the panel found.

It’s unclear why the audits were never conducted, and the report does not suggest Trump pressured the agency.

The Hill reports:

The returns encompass years 2015 to 2020 and could be released within a few days, Ways and Means leader Richard Neal (D-Mass.), said after the vote.

The returns will be attached to a package of two reports from the Ways and Means Committee to the broader Congress about the presidential audit system of the IRS.

The reports are expected to be released this evening. Trump’s tax returns are being redacted to remove information like bank account and social security numbers, and that process could take a few days, committee members said.
