How To “Brainwash” Your Teens (P.S. they need it!)

Brainwashing gets a bad rap, but sometimes it’s necessary.

It’s what the Hadjok family did during the Hungarian Revolution.

Every day, the Soviet propagandists were pushing foul ideas into the minds of their young children.

Thirteen-year-old Vera and nine-year-old Johan fled across the border with their parents, and were stopped by some people who wanted to interview them.

The interviewers didn’t know what they had bargained for.

“Neither Russia nor the communists in Hungary could ever make us believe the lies they told us!” young Vera told them.

Naturally, the interviewers were stunned by the boldness of this child and her ability to see through the heavy indoctrination in schools and the media.

“How did you know they were lies?” one of them asked.

Mrs. Hadjok answered:

At night after we had put out the lights upstairs we would gather in the cellar, and I would teach the children the true history of Hungary. We would discuss morality and the Catholic religion… We never allowed the children to go to sleep until we had washed away the evil things they might have heard that day.

That’s some good brainwashing right there from a loving parent.

And heaven knows that kids today need the same thoughtful, daily effort to “wash” away the garbage they’re exposed to.
