The media really doesn’t like the word “groomer.”
Instead of focusing on the actual meaning behind the word, they are instead mad that people use it at all.
The media claim that it’s an anti-LGBTQ “hate” word.
The problem is, nobody on the right is labeling that entire community as groomers…
No, the left is making that connection themselves.
Look at this supercut of the media freaking out over the word “groomer:”
Media Freaks Out over Use of Word “Groomer” — It ”Could Lead People to Violence” pic.twitter.com/Ngsor470IA

They seem to be missing the point here.
The media are claiming that the right is using the term as a blanket statement for all members of the LGBTQ community.
That simply is not the case.
That hasn’t stopped the lies being spewed by leftists:
The word “groomer” is categorically an anti-LGBTQ hate word. It’s super homophobic/transphobic. It plays into the slander that LGBTQ people are pedophiles. It’s no different than calling someone a fagg*t.
If you call someone groomer, you’re inciting violence against LGBTQ people

Twitter has spent the last two days after the Colorado shooting reinstating every anti-LGBTQ account that was permanently suspended over the past 5 years. Now, "ok, groomer" is trending. Elon is stoking the hate that fuels this violence even further. pic.twitter.com/ur4dBLRwky

Why are they reacting this way though, really?
There’s an easy answer.
This movement by the left is simply another attempt to demonize those who disagree with them, hence why the media mobilized this way right after the Club Q shooting:
Club Q owner blames ‘groomer’ slurs for new rise in anti-LGBTQ+ hatehttps://t.co/ck5WSabn66
— PinkNews (@PinkNews) November 25, 2022
Hateful and violent online rhetoric targeting LGBTQ people has been ratcheting up for months. Now, just hours after a deadly mass shooting at #ClubQ, the worst of these hate accounts, LibsofTikTok is targeting another drag event in Colorado.

Never let a crisis go to waste they say:
"When you can encourage extremists and members of the public to see LGBTQ+ people, or indeed any marginalized communities, as dangerous, it creates a scenario where violence against them seems justified." https://t.co/ZO3UymzGGI

Look at the language used by this alleged “expert on extremism” in an article by MSN:
In light of the recent violence against LGBTQ+ people in a supposedly safe space within the community, the repercussions of such language are clear. When you can encourage extremists and members of the public to see LGBTQ+ people, or indeed any marginalized communities, as dangerous, it creates a scenario where violence against them seems justified.
Posing queer people as threats to children, a defenseless group in our society, incites a desire to protect—often with violence. Equating LGBTQ+ people to ‘groomers’ or ‘pedos’ isn’t just insulting and false; it’s downright dangerous.
Quite frankly, this is a bunch of BS.
The media has found a way to defend pure evil simply by falsely claiming that the right is calling EVERYONE evil.
This allows them to completely ignore the fact that this is going on at all.
If youre claiming that "groomer" refers to all LGBT people then youre calling all LGBT people pedophiles and inciting violence against them
STOP. PROTECTING. GROOMERS
STOP. INCITING VIOLENCE https://t.co/ly0q8zGvuY— Tim Pool (@Timcast) November 22, 2022
Most on the right have been very clear on their definition of this term for years:
A brief thread on how Leftist misinformation spreads. The media has been claiming for months that there is a rise in "anti-LGBT" violence. They use this to justify banning terms like "groomer," claiming that such labels fuel attacks. But where is the evidence of this epidemic?

The people who accuse you of causing a mass wave of suicides if you say that women don't have penises are now concerned that the "groomer" label might be unfair
— Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) April 6, 2022
Anyone who wants to teach other people’s kids about sexuality and gender confusion is a (wait for it) GROOMER.
— Allie Beth Stuckey (@conservmillen) October 28, 2022
If you hear the word “groomer” and assume it’s an anti-LGBT slur, it says more about how you view LGBT people than the people trying to call out groomers.

If you have sexual conversations with kids and hide those conversations from their parents, you are a groomer. This isn't complicated.
