Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has signaled his intent to run for president in 2024.
Hutchinson said he plans to spend time with his wife, Susan, and their six grandchildren when he leaves the governor’s office in January, 2023.
Afterward, he has different plans in mind.
“I plan to be in Iowa, South Carolina, New Hampshire and so we’re looking at 2024,” Hutchinson said.
“It’s a very important time for our country.

KATU reported:
The outgoing governor made these comments during an interview with an Arkansas television program on Friday.
Hutchinson has previously spoken about a potential bid for president. In May 2022, he said he would consider running regardless of whether or not former President Donald Trump enters the race.
Hutchinson has served as governor of Arkansas since 2015. He served two terms, the state’s legal limit, and is being replaced by former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
He previously served as head of the Drug Enforcement Administration and as Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Border and Transportation Security.

“I believe I have a very unique message from Arkansas and experience in D.C. with the border and national security issues come to bear,” Hutchinson said.
“We need a voice of common-sense conservativism and where you can bring people together and have candidates that can win in Nov. and not just the primary,” he added.
“And I think I offer that, so we have a big decision to make.”
