Will he or won’t he run for reelection in 2024?
“My judgment of running, when I announce—if I announce now, my intention is that I run again. But I’m a great respecter of fate. And this is, ultimately, a family decision. I think everybody wants me to run, but they’re going—we’re going to have discussions about it”, Biden was quoted as saying by The Epoch Times.
Far from giving a definitive answer, Joe Biden seems to be leaving the door open for all possible scenarios, despite widespread reporting that he would, in fact, run for reelection in 2024.
The 79-year-old will turn 80 in 10 days and has admitted to voters that his advanced age is a legitimate cause for concern according to The Hill.
Recent polls show that over 70% of Americans do not want Biden running again in 2024, with a corresponding number believing that the country is “out of control”, as per one mainstream outlet.
To make matters worse, 68% of GOP voters want Biden impeached at the earliest possible chance.
By now, it is clear that a vast majority of voters from both parties want to see Biden gone and with mounting pressure from inside his party making his political position untenable, we may see a new Democrat frontrunner in 2024.
Here’s his recent statement via CNN that he is now walking back:
"Our intention is to run again," President Biden says about his 2024 plans. "That's been our intention regardless of what the outcome of this election was." https://t.co/qlwihmTuIt pic.twitter.com/y3Pwpbn2Ds

Despite the political situation looking increasingly bleak for the Biden administration, Ben Shapiro points out that Biden is not going to course correct:
As I said yesterday, Joe Biden is going to double down on everything. No lessons learned. Just triumphalism. Which means Democrats are treating 2022 as a massive win rather than as a bullet dodged. But 2024 may disabuse them of that notion quickly if the GOP can get serious. IF.

The Epoch Times points out:
When asked to provide a timeline for when the public could expect an official call from the president on whether he’ll seek a second term, Biden said that he’s taking some time off before making that judgment.
“Well, I—my guess is—I hope Jill and I get a little time to actually sneak away for a week around—between Christmas and Thanksgiving,” he said, adding that “it would be early next year” when a formal announcement can be expected on the matter.
I think some Democrats were hoping to leverage a bigger red wave to show Joe Biden the door, and start the process of replacing him with a more viable candidate for 2024. That’s all been put on hold. pic.twitter.com/dNZlHdC8GT

Breitbart reports that one progressive group is calling for Democrats to run a new candidate:
The “Don’t Run Joe” campaign launch comes one day after the midterm elections, in which Democrats performed better than expected.
RootsAction urges Democrats not to make the “tragic mistake” of rerunning Biden in 2024, whose presidency they describe as being “neither bold nor inspiring.”
