All 435 United States House seats are up for election in the 2022 midterms — but the path to partisan majority will come down to a much smaller number. Some 35 seats are rated a “toss up” heading into Election Day, according to the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. Going into Election Day, Democrats held a slim majority, 220 seats to Republicans’ 212. The GOP only needs a net gain of five seats to take control.
