Dwayne The Rock Johnson is best known for his movie-playing roles and not for his politics but despite his lack of experience in the political arena many people have speculated the movie star would run for office.

Well, the Rock has put all rumors to rest and has announced he will not be running for office any time soon.

In an interview with CBS, the former WWE star stated being the president is “off the table for him.”

He would later say the reason why he’s not running for office is that he wants to spend time with his children.

CBS broke the story:

Actor and international star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been seriously talked about as a potential candidate for president – and it was talk he didn’t dismiss, until now. Johnson tells correspondent Tracy Smith he is ruling out a run for president in an interview for “CBS Sunday Morning,” to be broadcast October 9 on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.

“It’s off the table. Yes, it is off the table,” Johnson told Smith.

“I will say this, ’cause it requires a B side to this: I love our country and everyone in it. I also love being a daddy. And that’s the most important thing to me, is being a daddy, number one, especially during this time, this critical time in my daughters’ lives. ‘Cause I know what it was like to be on the road and be so busy that I was absent for a lot of years when my first daughter’s growing up in these critical age and this critical time in her life.”

Johnson said being president would take him away from his family.

“Sure, CEO sounds great!” Johnson said. “But the number one thing I want to be is daddy. That’s it.

In times past the Rock has stayed clear from politics but during the 2020 election, the Rock openly supported Biden.

WWE legend, actor and businessman, Dwayne Johnson, officially made his first public endorsement for a presidential candidate as he announcement his support for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Sunday.

“… as a registered Independent for years now with centrist ideologies, I do feel that Vice President Biden and Senator Harris are the best choice to lead our country, and I am endorsing them to become President, and Vice President, of our United States,” Johnson said in a video posted on Twitter.

He added that he has voted for both parties in the past and that this is “arguably the most critical election our country has seen in decades.”
