The House has just passed a piece of legislation that aims to get rid of the 1800s Electoral Count Act which governs alongside the Constitution how states and lawmakers certify electors and presidential winners.
According to PBS the bill was written and passed as a response to the events that occurred on January 6th.
The new bill would completely eliminate the ceremonial counting of electoral votes and essentially leave the certification of electoral votes decided behind closed doors.
To make matters worse 10 Republicans even signed the bill which will now head to the Senate.

PBS had these details to report:
The House has passed legislation to overhaul the rules for certifying the results of a presidential election as lawmakers accelerate their response to the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.
The bill, which is similar to bipartisan legislation moving through the Senate, would overhaul an arcane 1800s-era statute known as the Electoral Count Act that governs, along with the U.S. Constitution, how states and Congress certify electors and declare presidential election winners.
While that process has long been routine and ceremonial, Trump and a group of his aides and lawyers unsuccessfully tried to exploit loopholes in the law in an attempt to overturn his defeat to Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Democrats are pushing to pass the bill before the end of the year and ahead of the 2024 election cycle as Trump is considering another run.
While at least 10 GOP senators have signed on to the Senate version, the House vote fell mostly along party lines. House Republicans — most of whom are still aligned with Trump — argued that the legislation shouldn’t be a priority and that it is a political vehicle for Democrats ahead of November’s midterm elections. The final vote was 229-203.
Despite Democrats and news outlets such as PBS and The New York Times parading the new bill as a good thing, many are saying it’s unconstitutional.

The Gateway Pundit had more on the story:
The Democrats are fiercely working to overhaul elections ahead of the midterms.
The House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a proposal to overhaul rules for certifying presidential elections.
The 9 RINO usual suspects voted with the Democrats: Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Peter Meijer, Gonzalez (OH), Jacobs (NY), Herrera Beutler, Katko, Rice (SC) and Upton.
“The House legislation overhauls certain parts of the Electoral Count Act, which sets out deadlines for states to certify their presidential contests, establishes a process to send electors to Washington, names the vice president as the overseer of the vote count and lays out a process for lawmakers to challenge results.” Politico reported.
In other words, the Democrats are working to make it easier for them to steal elections after they set up Zuckerberg ballot boxes all over the country.
