A recent video of a contestant on the first season of American Idol has many people doing a double take.
The video shows a woman who looks very similar to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene auditioning for American Idol.
After further research though, the woman in the American Idol video goes by the name Stephanie Sugarman and is from Alta, Loma California not Georgia.
Take a look at the video here:

The New York Post broke the story:
A resurfaced video from the first season of “American Idol” in 2002 has Twitter users doing a double take at a blonde, energetic hopeful who very much resembles Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.
However, the woman in the video — which has 1.2 million views and over 37,900 likes since it was posted on Sunday — claims her name is Stefanie Sugarman, 23, and says she is from Alta Loma, California, despite Greene hailing from the Peach State.
“My biggest worry right now is telling work how I’m going to miss Monday. Calling in sick. Sorry, boss!,” the woman says to the camera in between some Britney Spears-inspired dance moves in front of fellow contestants.
Once in front of judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, Sugarman states she works in “marketing for cheese. I sell provolone and mozzarella,” before launching into a chaotic version of “Knockin’ Da Boots” by H- Town.
Also worth noting:
Marjorie Taylor Greene was not eligible to audition for the first season of American Idol. The cut off age was 24 and Greene was 27 when American Idol held its LA auditions in April 2002.

Newsweek had these details to add:
Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has been jokingly accused on social media of being a contestant on American Idol under the fake name Stefanie Sugarman.
An unearthed video of an American Idol contestant’s audition from the first season has divided Twitter, Reddit and YouTube users, with many questioning whether the contestant is in fact the representative.
A Reddit a post, which has been upvoted nearly 10,000 times, shows the 2002 footage of a woman introduced as Stefanie Sugarman, 23, from Alta Loma, California.
The footage shows Sugarman’s confident performance and her receiving three notes from the then judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.
After being dismissed, Sugarman then came back to ask if she was going on to the next round, to the bemusement of the judges.
To conclude there’s no chance that was MTG, but there is some resemblance between Sugarman and Greene.
