A former staffer of ex-Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo was killed in Delaware on July 24th.

In the early hours of the morning on July 24th, former Cuomo staffer Sydney Wolf ordered a Lyft driver to transport them from Dewey Beach to Betnay Beach.

Due to some unknown conflict, the Lyft driver kicked Wolf and several others out of the car on Coastal highway.

As Wolf was getting out of the car a Toyota going southbound struck Wolf and later he was pronounced dead.

After the incident, the Toyota stopped but the Lyft driver drove away from the scene.

CNN shared these details:

A former staff member for ex-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was killed after a Lyft driver allegedly ordered him and five friends out of a car on Delaware’s Coastal Highway, state police said in a news release.

Just before 1:45 a.m. on July 24, Sidney Wolf, 43, and five others ordered a Lyft to pick them up from Dewey Beach and take them to Bethany Beach, authorities said.

According to the Delaware State Police, at some point during the ride, the Lyft driver and the passengers had a “disagreement,” causing the Lyft driver to end the ride “in the middle of the southbound left lane” of the Coastal Highway and demanded that all six passengers get out of the vehicle.

At the same time, a 2016 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound and fatally hit Wolf, say police in a press release.

The driver of the Corolla, 27, tried to change lanes to avoid the stopped Lyft vehicle but ultimately did not see Wolf, who “had just exited the right rear passenger seat and was standing in the roadway,” police said.
“After impact, the Corolla immediately pulled over on the southbound shoulder and came to a controlled stop. The Lyft vehicle fled southbound on Coastal Highway immediately after the crash,” reads the press release.

The Daily Wire got the scoop too:

Sidney Wolf, a former senior policy adviser for Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), was struck and killed by a car Sunday after a Lyft driver forced him to exit the vehicle, according to police.

The 43-year-old father of two was riding with a group of five friends on Coastal Highway in Delaware in the early hours of Sunday morning, Fox 5 reported. Wolf and his friends were told to get out of the Lyft vehicle in the middle of the highway before he was fatally struck by another car.

“This is an extremely difficult time for our family,” the Wolf family wrote in a statement to Fox 5. “The level of shock and pain we feel right now cannot be measured as we continue to grieve. We truly appreciate the outpouring of love and support we’ve received and kindly request that the family’s privacy is respected as we move through this process.”

According to police, a disagreement arose between the Lyft driver and the passengers. The driver then stopped in the left lane and forced the passengers to exit the vehicle, according to a police report. Wolf was hit when a Toyota Corolla switched lanes to avoid hitting the Lyft vehicle but did not see Wolf standing in the road. Wolf died on the scene, and the other passengers were unharmed.
