It’s difficult to keep tabs on all of the current crises occurring in the United States.
A tragic event may bring more attention back to the immigration crisis however.
At least 46 migrants were found dead in the back of a semi-truck on Monday in a remote area of San Antonio, Texas.
According to Police Chief William McManus, the migrants were discovered after a worker heard someone yelling for help from the tractor trailer at around 6:00 pm.
He discovered more than 50 migrants abandoned inside the trailer.
Tragically, 46 of them were already dead.
The remaining 16 were suffering from exhaustion and heat stroke.
This marks the deadliest human smuggling incident on American soil since 2003, where 19 immigrants suffered a similar fate inside a sweltering hot tractor trailer.

USA Today reports on this horrific tragedy:
Forty-six people were found dead and 16 others were taken to hospitals Monday after a tractor-trailer containing suspected migrants was found abandoned in a remote area of San Antonio, officials said, the latest tragedy claiming the lives of people attempting to cross the U.S. border from Mexico in recent decades.
According to San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, a city worker heard a cry for help from the truck shortly before 6 p.m. Monday and discovered the gruesome scene. Hours later, body bags lay spread on the ground near the trailer as a grim symbol of the calamity.
16 people found inside the truck are being treated at a hospital, Fire Department Chief Charles Hood said, including 12 adults and four children, who he referred to as teenagers and young adults. None of those who died were children, Hood said.
“They were suffering from heat stroke, heat exhaustion,” Hood said, later adding that there were no signs of water or working air conditioning unit on the semi-truck.

Greg Abbott says Biden's 'deadly open border policies' are responsible for deaths of migrants found 'stacked' in semi-truck https://t.co/FlnQYnBFBh

Many are now blaming Joe Biden’s open border policies for this horrible tragedy.
Greg Abbot is among those pointing the finger to Biden according to Daily Mail:
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott blamed the deaths on President Joe Biden’s ‘deadly open border policies’ and ‘refusal to enforce the law.’
Biden, addressing the tragedy Tuesday, called the deaths ‘horrifying and heartbreaking’ and said it further underscores the ‘need to go after the multi-billion dollar criminal smuggling industry preying on migrants and leading to far too many innocent deaths.’
The incident marks the deadliest human smuggling on American soil since 2003 when 19 migrants died after riding inside the rear compartment of sweltering 18-wheeler while they traveled from South Texas to Houston. The death doll rose to 50 from 46 on Tuesday morning.
It also comes as the U.S. has reported a record number of migrant crossings, rescues and deaths under the leadership of the Biden Administration.
Biden blamed the tragedy on ‘human traffickers who have no regard for the lives they endanger and exploit to make a profit.’
‘Exploiting vulnerable individuals for profit is shameful, as is political grandstanding around tragedy,’ the president said, reiterating he was dedicated to combatting the skyrocketing migration at the southern border.
Democrats are largely ignoring the story.
On Tuesday's "National Report," @MarkwayneMullin criticizes the Democrats for not addressing the tragedy of the 46 migrants found deceased in a semi-truck.
