JUST IN: Biden Signs Gun Control Legislation With Red Flag Provisions Into Law

Biden on Saturday signed into law the first major federal gun-control legislation in decades, including multiple “red flag” provisions that strip the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans.

“God willing, it’s going to save a lot of lives,” Biden said as he finished signing the bill.

Red flag laws do NOT prevent crime. They only take guns away from legal gun owners.

The House on Friday passed the bill by 234-193, including 14 Republicans voting with Democrats.

The Senate passed the bill late Thursday night with the help of 15 RINOs.

Reuters reported:

The Supreme Court on Thursday declared for the first time that the U.S. Constitution protected an individual’s right to carry a handgun in public for self-defense. Gun control has long been a divisive issue in the nation with several attempts to put new controls on gun sales failing time after time.

The new legislation includes provisions to help states keep guns out of the hands of those deemed to be a danger to themselves or others and blocks gun sales to those convicted of abusing unmarried intimate partners. It does not ban sales of assault-style rifles or high-capacity magazines.

The law does take some steps on background checks by allowing access, for the first time, to information on significant crimes committed by juveniles. It also cracks down on gun sales to purchasers convicted of domestic violence.

It provides new federal funding to states that administer “red flag” laws intended to remove guns from people deemed dangerous to themselves and others.

The Gateway Pundit added:

The most significant concern in the bill is the “red flag” gun laws that would allow officials to bypass Second Amendment rights and remove a gun from anyone they feel might be a threat. It is a death blow to due process and flips the judicial standard of innocent until proven guilty.

Under the red flag laws, a person is presumed guilty until otherwise deemed innocent. Under the process, a person is penalized by having their Second Amendment rights revoked and their gun confiscated for a reason as simple as posting a photo of a firearm on their social media. If a person reported that post and expressed any concern about the person’s mental state, their gun(s) would be removed by law enforcement.
